California Online Poker Bill Reclassified as “Urgency Bill”
SB 678 will take effect immediately if it passes both houses and signed into law.
- The amendment to SB-678 is the first movement of the bill since it was introduced in February.
- The bill is now severable, allowing portions of it to be deemed invalid without jeopardizing the entire bill.
- SB-678 is now also an urgency bill which would enable it to take effect immediately upon passage and requiring a 2/3 majority in both houses.
