PokerStars Ratholing Solution Delayed Again

A setback means players will have to hang on a little longer for the solution termed “Buy In Obligations.”

  • In a partnership with BitPay announced on reddit, players can use the virtual currency to make in game purchases.

Sibu Police Chief Plans to End Online Gambling

In the Sibu District of Malaysia, the chief of police is carrying out hundreds of raids to stop internet gambling. Malaysian Sibu District Police Chief Mohd Kamal Kordi has told local politicians that he plans to end internet gambling by the end of 2014. Last year his police officers carried out almost 600 raids on cyber gambling dens.


Dutch Regulator Issues New Promotions Code of Conduct

Tight rules on advertising and promotions are seen as an effective tool in combating unlicensed operators. The Dutch Gaming Authority (DGA) has issued a new Code of Conduct covering promotional games of chance. The Code came into force on January 1, though the new Netherlands gaming laws are unlikely to be implemented until the beginning of 2015, possibly later.


Svenska Spel: The “Party is Over” for Unlicensed Gambling Advertising

Chairwoman Anitra Steen tells the Publishers’ Association that their complaints to the EU are pointless. Svenska Spel Chairwoman Anitra Steen has given an interview where she staunchly defends the non-profit monopoly gaming provider system in Sweden. The interview came following a complaint to the EU Commission which was made by the Swedish Newspaper Publishers’ Association Tidningsutgivarna (TU) in December.
