The last couple of weeks have been quite busy for poker fans, with a lot of exciting content popping up left and right. GGPoker is adding to that excitement with Online Poker Millionaires, a brand new docuseries that takes the viewers inside the world of high stakes online poker.
While most poker TV series, including the recently released NO LIMIT, focus on the live aspect of the game, the latest GGPoker creation turns its attention to those doing the work behind their computer screens, turning time, dedication, and ambition into financial success, big time.
The series, which was created in cooperation with POKERfilms, will premiere on Wednesday, November 12, and is designed so that every episode focuses on a different player, showcasing their mindset, routines, and ambition required to compete at the highest level and play for huge amounts of money on a daily basis.
- Or get up to $100 worth of rewards

- Great MTT schedule including WSOP events
Alex Theologis in the Spotlight
The very first episode of Online Poker Millionaires will feature Alex Theologis, a highly accomplished high stakes player and coach, who won over $9,000,000 on GGPoker alone. The GGMillion$ and WSOP winner will share everything, including how he prepares for the grind and how his passion for the game helps him stay on top.
Leading up to the first episode will be a live GGMillion$ broadcast on November 11, where Theologis will join Jeff Gross as a guest commentator on GGPoker’s official YouTube channel.
On Thursday, November 13, the day after the first episode airs, Alex will do an Ask-Me-Anything (AMA) on Reddit, where he’ll talk about the filming process, share some more insights into his routines and processes, and provide an opportunity for fans and players to ask him questions about his life as high stakes online grinder.
In the PR announcing the new series, Theologis also explained where his passion for the game comes from.
Online poker let me build a life I never thought was possible when I started out. It’s tough sometimes, but I wouldn’t trade this job for anything. I just want people who watch Online Poker Millionaires to get a real, honest look at what it means to be a professional player.
Real People Living Real Lives Behind the Monitors
When we think about players crushing it online, it’s easy enough to forget that there are actual people behind those screen names — people with real lives beyond the felt, dealing with everyday life stuff just like the rest.
According to Mike Bailey, Director of Online Poker Millionaires, this was the main motivation for creating this series. Bailey is a creative force behind POKERfilms, the company that GGPoker has partnered with for this project.
Adding some more context to the project, he explains: “These high-stakes pros may not care for the limelight, but I felt it was important to be able to highlight the talent and dedication that goes on behind closed doors on a daily basis.”
It wasn’t an accident that Bailey was selected to direct Online Poker Millionaires. With a reputation for bringing emotional depth to the game and cinematic storytelling, he is capable of capturing everything that goes into creating a successful poker player: the grind and the glory alike.
The official trailer for the new series should drop later today, with the first episode airing on November 12, and new ones coming regularly on GGPoker’s YouTube channel. If you’ve always wondered what it is that makes these high stakes professionals tick and how they manage to come back to their computer screens day after day and do it all over again, Online Poker Millionaires is poised to provide some answers.
