The newly launched Global League, an exciting competition created by 888poker to give players a chance to qualify for the upcoming live events, is off to a strong start. With the first three weeks officially in the books, there is just one more week of play left in November before the first few winners are announced.

As with any league, those who have been there from the beginning have a bit of a head start over those coming late to the party, but there is still time left to get in the mix and swing for the fences.

The last of the four main tournaments takes place this upcoming Sunday, featuring a buy-in of $5.50, but you can also get your seat for free through freerolls starting on Thursday. These tournaments are password-protected, but the password is easy enough to get. You just need to follow 888poker on their official Instagram page.

What Is Global League by 888poker?

In case you’ve missed the memo, Global League is a new online competition, which, first and foremost, aims to qualify players to 888poker LIVE events.

The league functions on a monthly model, with four points-awarding events taking place throughout the month (on Sundays). Points are awarded based on the total number of players in the tournament, and there are bonus points up for grabs for regular participation as well as through social media competitions.

At the end of each league, the first place receives a full package to an 888poker LIVE event of their choice, while the runner-up picks up a live event entry. There are other prizes up for grabs for the top 20 finishers, including online tournament tickets, 888poker merch, and more.

You can find a full breakdown of the Global League and all prizes in this article, but, in short, it is one of the best and most affordable ways to win live tournament packages.

Final Call for November

There is just one tournament left on the docket for this month’s portion of the league, taking place on Sunday, November 30. While the current leader, ‘Paracelso100’ from Argentina, looks good to run away with the win, things are still far from done.

As mentioned, the number of points awarded in each tournament is based on the total number of entries. For example, in a tournament with 300 runners, the winner gets 300 points, the runner-up 299 points, etc. This means that, if the Sunday tournament were to feature a large field, which is quite likely, whoever wins could pick up a few hundred points and surge to the top.

The event comes with a buy-in of just $5.50, but qualifying freerolls will be taking place on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with each sending 50 players to the main weekly event. All you need is a password, which is available for free to everyone following 888poker on Instagram (check out their latest story in the “Global League” section).

All this is to say that you have every reason to try and get involved, even if (or especially if) you don’t have a big bankroll. There are quite a few valuable prizes up for grabs in addition to live tournament entries, including online tournament tickets worth up to $250.

And in the event you’ve missed this particular train, don’t worry. The 888poker Global League will be back in December, and you can get involved from the very first week. This will give you the best shot at making it to the top and booking your ticket to one of the great destinations on offer for the upcoming season.
