The World Series of Poker Circuit will kick off on a strong note in 2026, with several stops taking place during the first month of the year. One of them is WSOP-C Calgary, set to play out January 7 — 19, 2026, at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino.

WSOP-C Calgary will feature 18 ring-awarding tournaments, including the $2,200 Main Event, and those playing online poker in Canada looking to get involved in this one have a chance to secure their seat at a fraction of the cost thanks to online satellites running at GGPoker.

As is usually the case with these qualifiers, they’re visible only to players located in Canada, and you won’t be able to see them when accessing the client from a different location. As for Canadians, the easiest way to find the satellites is by typing ‘Calgary’ in the search box.

Step Satellites Starting at Just $1

Those looking to play in the very first WSOP Canada stop of 2026 – including Alberta online poker players – are welcome to take a shot, as GGPoker is offering a step satellite structure that starts with C$1 tournaments. These feed players into Step 2 $10 tournaments.

Main satellites have a buy-in of C$75, and there is currently one taking place every day. WSOP-C Calgary Main Event satellites have a Target Stack format, with any player reaching 320,000 in chips winning a seat. The starting stack in the main satellites is 10,000, and there is one seat guaranteed regardless of the number of entries.

Naturally, players are free to start their qualifying journey at any step along the way. Those with smaller bankrolls can work their way up from $1 events. You can also choose to skip the first step and try qualifying for the main satellites via $10 feeders, or you can simply buy into $75 satellites directly and play for a seat.

The 2026 WSOP-C Calgary Main Event features three starting flights, taking place on January 15, 16, and 17. Day 2 plays out on January 18, and the winner is crowned the next day.

18 WSOP-C Rings up for Grabs in Alberta

In addition to the Main Event, the January WSOP Alberta festival will feature 17 more opportunities to win coveted rings. A majority of buy-ins are in the mid-three figures, making the series very affordable and attractive to casual players and Circuit grinders alike.

The only tournament that falls outside this norm is the $3,500 High Roller, set to take place on January 18, toward the end of the series.

Tournament officials have confirmed that the WSOP+ app will play a central role during the festival, and all players will need to have a registered and verified account in order to participate. The app will be used to handle tournament registration, player seating, and more.

WSOP-C Calgary had its first festival back in 2022, and since then, the series has gone from strength to strength, attracting players in droves, attracting a lot of interest, and, naturally, generating large prize pools, especially in the Main Event.

The very first tournament attracted 1,179 entries, resulting in a prize pool of almost C$1.8 million, becoming the largest prize pool in Alberta’s history. In January next year, the Main Event blew that record out of the water, dishing out well over C$2.1 million in prizes.

In January 2024, the tournament matched and slightly exceeded the previous year numbers, and in 2025, it saw a record-breaking attendance of 1,571 players.

So, all indicators are there that the 2026 WSOP Calgary Main Event will be a massive affair, and potentially the biggest one yet. With qualifiers running on GGPoker every single day and buy-ins starting at as little as $1, all players from Canada are invited to take their shot and join the exciting action at the Deerfoot Inn & Casino in January.
