We have some good news coming from PokerStars. After a short hiatus, Season 2 of the PokerStars Big Game on Tour will continue airing on YouTube on September 28, bringing a fresh lineup, exciting action, and, of course, a brand new Loose Cannon.
The first round of the new season featured Jordan Handrich in the LC seat. Things didn’t quite go her way on the felt as her stack evaporated before she was able to reach the full 150 hands. Still, she was very happy about the opportunity and the confidence that it gave her, which she believes will be very important in her future poker endeavors.
On Sep 28, another qualifier will face off against five players. As always, their mission will be to try and make a profit over the original stake, as that’s all they get to keep when things are said and done.
The Big Game Is Getting Bigger — In Every Which Way
It’s become a trend to keep players in suspense all the way until cards are in the air, so PokerStars is keeping things close to the vest as far as the next round of the Big Game on Tour is concerned. What we do know is that buy-ins will be bigger, which means more action and larger pots.
The lineup seems perfect for boosted action, too. Apparently, Alan Keating is back, looking to improve on his results from the first season. Then, there is the high-stakes crusher and one of the most recent members of Team PokerStars, Jason Koon. For Koon’s standards, this may not be as big a game, but you can be sure he’ll play to win, as that’s just the way he is built.
Rounding up the opposition are Lex Veldhuis, the popular vlogger Alexander Seibt (much better known as Wolfgang Poker), and Morgan Jay, an American stand-up comedian, musician. Jay may not be an experienced poker player, but he is certain to lighten the mood at the table, and that’s always +EV.
Luke Moy, the Next Loose Cannon?
While the PokerStars tweet did not exactly reveal which of the remaining two last cannons will take a seat against this fun but tough lineup, it is Luke Moy who appears briefly in the shot with the players, so it’s a safe bet he’s the one we’ll be rooting for.
Luke is a pub manager coming from London, UK, and in his day job, he gets to meet and deal with different types of people (as one would working in a pub). He believes that experience will be of great use to him on the green felt and help him make the right decisions in high-pressure situations.
He’ll certainly take any help he can get, as it seems the game could be even bigger than what we saw in the first round when Jordan was staked $50,000. Will Luke have $100,000 to work with at double the stakes? According to the rules, he still only gets to keep the profit, but that profit could be much bigger if a few hands go his way.
For now, we can only wait and see if PokerStars gives us any further insights into what’s to come. That said, with this particular lineup, there will be no nitting it up. If nothing else, we can be pretty sure that Mr. Keating will give the Loose Cannon a couple of fair shots to try and gamble for all the marbles!
