Stake Poker has signed Colombian poker pro Farid Jattin as its first dedicated poker ambassador, bringing a player with more than $10 million in live tournament earnings to its roster.

Jattin will represent the poker platform across its US sweepstakes and international real-money operations. Stake has previously signed several high-profile celebrity ambassadors, including UFC champion Alex Pereira, who has also promoted its poker offering.

“Another milestone in the right direction after launching in Mexico a couple of months ago,” wrote Jean-Christophe Antoine, who leads Stake’s poker vertical, in a LinkedIn post announcing the signing. “Step by step Stake Poker is getting there… Welcome to the Team, Farid Jattin!”

According to The Hendon Mob, Jattin has earned more than $10 million in live poker tournaments. His biggest recorded cash came in 2019, when he finished seventh in the inaugural PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) in the Bahamas. He also won the $25,000 Challenge at the 2020 Aussie Millions.

Stake Poker’s Growing Offering

Stake launched its online poker offering in mid-2024 across its US sweepstakes platform, Stake.US, and its international real-money site. Poker is available through a browser-based client within the online casino, with the software developed entirely in-house, according to Poker Industry PRO.

The platform offers several formats beyond traditional cash games and tournaments. Players can compete in All-In or Fold and fast-fold poker, which Stake calls “Next!”, as well as bomb pots and mystery bounty tournaments. Other features include Run It Twice, straddles and rabbit hunting.

Stake has also been increasing its tournament guarantees. Its flagship Stake Showdown reached a $200,000 guaranteed prize pool last Sunday, up from $125,000 just a few weeks earlier.

The poker operation is led by Antoine, who was previously involved with GGPoker during its early years. The signing of Jattin gives Stake a dedicated poker ambassador as it looks to attract more players to the platform.

Where Is Stake Poker Available?

Stake operates across several markets, although its poker offering is not available everywhere the company holds a gambling license.

Jattin is from Colombia, where Stake holds a license but does not currently offer online poker. The operator secured a license in Mexico in May, where it is among the relatively small number of platforms offering legal online poker.

Earlier this month, Stake also went live in Alberta’s newly launched online gambling market, but poker was not available at launch. The company is also close to launching in Ontario.

In New Zealand, Stake is among 11 entities that won the right to apply for one of the country’s 15 online casino licenses. It is also the only brand among those applicants currently offering peer-to-peer poker to New Zealand players, where established operators such as PokerStars and GGPoker already have a presence.

In the US, Stake.US operates under a sweepstakes model and is available in more than 30 states, including Texas, Florida, Georgia, Colorado, and North Carolina. It will exit Oklahoma on October 30.

Despite its expansion, Stake remains a relatively small poker operator compared with established competitors.

Data tracked by SharkScope Analytics and available through PRO DB shows that its international network averages around 8,800 daily multi-table tournament entries and approximately 250 occupied cash game seats.

Stake.US records more than 6,000 daily tournament entries and around 210 occupied cash game seats. That places it behind Global Poker, at roughly 12,000 entries, and Clubs Poker, at around 7,200. ClubWPT Gold is not included in the tracking data.

Jattin’s appointment gives Stake a recognizable name from the live tournament circuit as it continues to build its online poker offering across the markets where the game is available.
