Mystery Bounty tournaments are finally arriving at BetRivers Poker, with the launch coinciding with the operator’s second anniversary celebrations and a decent slate of promotions for its players.

Starting Tuesday, October 27, the popular online poker tournament format will make its debut across all four states where BetRivers Poker operates: Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, and West Virginia.

In Mystery Bounty (MB) tournaments, players collect bounties by eliminating opponents, much like in traditional knockout events, but the exact value of each bounty remains unknown until the knockout occurs. The suspense comes from the possibility of landing a big prize without having to go particularly deep in the tournament, making the format popular with recreational and regular players alike.

BetRivers Poker will now offer MB tournaments alongside Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), another popular bounty format already available on the platform.

As with MB tournaments offered elsewhere, BetRivers will activate the bounty phase only after the tournament reaches the money. From that point onward, every player who eliminates an opponent receives a bounty drawn at random from the remaining prize pool. The amount is revealed at the table immediately after each knockout, adding an element of surprise to the action.

The buy-in structure follows the standard split, with approximately 50% of each entry fee allocated to the regular prize pool and the other 50% going toward bounties.

The operator says MB tournaments will be available at every buy-in level, giving players across different stakes the same opportunity to land a surprise payout. However, one of the more noticeable aspects of the launch is the presentation, with animations, sound effects, and visual cues designed to make the format easier to follow.

The animations and sound effects are particularly slick. A target marker identifies any all-in opponent whom a player covers, while a live bounty pay table clearly displays the prizes that remain available. Players can therefore keep track of the potential rewards without having to leave the table or interrupt the action.

Third US Operator to Join In

BetRivers becomes the third regulated online poker operator in the US to offer Mystery Bounty tournaments. WSOP Online and PokerStars on FanDuel had already introduced the format, and BetRivers is now joining them with what we think is the strongest presentation of the three, particularly in its animations, sound effects, and visual details.

The launch also brings MB tournaments to players in Delaware and West Virginia for the first time in the regulated US online poker market, as BetRivers is the only operator serving players in those two states.

Players can expect mystery bounty-related promotions and potentially a place for the format in the latter part of an upcoming tournament series. For now, they can try out the new tournaments and get a feel for the format as it makes its debut on the platform.

BetRivers Poker Marks Two Years

Alongside the mystery bounty launch, BetRivers Poker is celebrating its second anniversary with a series of promotions running from October 27 through November 1. The operator is hosting a special Anniversary Week, featuring a mix of giveaways, cash game promotions, and added prizes for tournament players as a thank-you to its customer base.

The Anniversary Week consists of four promotions: Global Ticket Drop, Super Splash, Run It Back, and Main Event Added Prizes.

The Global Ticket Drop is available to players who have played at least one real-money poker hand by October 25. Eligible players will receive two ticket drops during the week. The first arrives on Tuesday, October 27, and awards an SNG ticket, while the second takes place on Friday, October 30, and awards an MTT ticket. There is no opt-in requirement; players simply need to log in and check their accounts.

Cash game players will have the Super Splash promotion to look forward to. The offer boosts the operator’s existing Splash the Pot promotion to a 50% expected return rate. It runs daily from 8 PM to 2 AM ET and is available at two different stakes.

The Run It Back promotion targets players who finish as runners-up in the operator’s Classic and Cub3d Sit & Go tournaments. All second-place finishers will be entered into a daily draw, with more than $900 in SNG tickets awarded each day throughout Anniversary Week.

Finally, tournament players will benefit from added prizes across the site’s regular weekly events. From October 26 through October 31, all satellites to the Mini Main and Main Event will have two additional seats added to their usual payouts.

The main tournaments will also receive a boost to their prize pools. On November 1, BetRivers will add $222 to the Mini Main prize pool and $2,222 to the Main Event, giving players an additional incentive to take part as the anniversary celebrations draw to a close.

With mystery bounty tournaments making their debut and several promotions running throughout the week, BetRivers Poker is giving players plenty of reasons to log in during its second anniversary celebrations. The added prizes for the Mini Main and Main Event on November 1 will bring the week to a close, with the new bounty format offering another reason for players to stick around beyond the anniversary itself.
