Jorge Abreu delivered a dominant performance at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris 2026 Main Event, defeating a field of 1,474 players to capture the title and €1,148,600 top prize. The Portuguese pro, who entered the final day with half the chips in play, never relinquished control as he stormed to victory at Le Palais des Congrès.

The win marks a milestone career achievement for Abreu, who has been competing professionally for 17 years, mostly online. Known for his calm demeanor and analytical approach, Abreu leaned on his experience to navigate a volatile final table that produced one of the most lopsided conclusions in recent EPT history.

For Abreu, the triumph was personal, not patriotic. While his victory adds another title to Portugal’s record books, Abreu emphasized afterward that the achievement was his own—earned through focus, discipline, and a touch of good fortune. “You have to have the poker gods on your side a little bit,” he said.

Abreu Dominates Lopsided Final Table

The final table at EPT Paris 2026 was over almost as soon as it began. Abreu opened the day with a massive lead and immediately asserted control, scoring a double knockout to eliminate Thierry Gogniat and Tomas Jozonis in one hand with a flush draw that completed on the turn. From there, he never looked back.

Casimir Seire and Nazar Buhaiov fell next, before Abreu dispatched Enrico Coppola in third place with another fortuitous river card, setting up a quick heads-up battle against Germany’s Felix Schneiders. Starting with a 10-to-1 chip advantage, Abreu needed just a few hands to finish the job—spiking an eight on the river to crack Schneiders’ pocket queens.

Schneiders Grinds to Career-Best Runner-Up Finish

While the result was never in doubt, Schneiders’ own story was remarkable. The German Team GRND streamer began the day as the shortest stack but laddered his way to a career-high €717,350 second-place finish, more than doubling his previous live earnings. “It means the world to me,” Schneiders said after his runner-up run. “This is what I’ve dreamed of since I started streaming.”

Italy’s Enrico Coppola claimed third place for €512,400, while Finland’s Casimir Seire narrowly missed the podium, exiting in fourth for €394,150. Rounding out the top eight were Nazar Buhaiov (€303,150), Tomas Jozonis (€233,200), Thierry Gogniat (€179,350), and Sami Bechahed (€137,950).
