Sunday Storm Turns 15 in 2026

It’s been 15 years since PokerStars introduced its iconic Sunday Storm tournament, which was originally designed to give low-stakes players a chance to experience the feeling of playing in a mass-scale tournament like the Sunday Million.

The Sunday Storm has thrived over the years and crowned hundreds of champions, and now, 15 years later, it’s celebrating its birthday with a very special $500k guaranteed version.

Phase 1 of the Anniversary Sunday Storm is already running and will continue running daily until May 10, when the remaining players will come together to play Phase 2 down to a champion.

Online qualifiers are already running within the platform, with buy-ins starting at just $0.50, but that’s not your only chance to win an Anniversary Sunday Storm ticket.

The Sunday Storm 15th Anniversary Ticket Machine is giving away $300k worth of tournament tickets, with 1,705 tickets given away daily.

If you want a chance at a free ticket, complete simple challenges such as playing in the Sunday Storm Phase 1 or knocking out players from the event, and the Ticket Machine may give you a chance to play again for free.

Phase 1 is in full swing, and you now have a chance to make the money without even qualifying for Phase 2, as all the deep runners in Phase 1 will be awarded with a min-cash.

Play the Anniversary Series for Extra Value

As always, PokerStars is giving away a little something extra on top throughout the Anniversary Series, with a couple of promotions running to ensure players have something to compete for alongside the tournament prize pools.

From May 10 to 31, the operator will give away $650,000 in tournament tickets via the Lucky Dips promotion, where every player who plays at least one Anniversary Series tournament will have a chance to win.

Every player who plays an Anniversary Series tournament will be assigned a random number between 1 and 1,000,000, and the ones with the best scores will win tournament tickets worth between $5 and $5,200.

The operator will also be running three weekly leaderboards, giving away a total of $100,000 in cash prizes across them, and awarding up to 20 players in low, medium, and high buy-in orbits, as well as the overall best performer in each week.

With the leaderboard restarting every week, tournament grinders will get three clean slates, and three chances to make their results count for up to $15,000 in extra weekly prize money.

Celebrate PokerStars 25th Anniversary in Style

PokerStars will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in style, with tens of millions of dollars in tournament prizes given away throughout May, and hundreds of thousands in extra promotional value up for grabs.

Whether you are a recreational player who likes to have some fun on the weekends or a hardcore tournament grinder, this Series has something for you.

Buy-ins start as low as $5.50, the qualifiers and Power Path events are in full swing, and the $11 Sunday Storm Anniversary Edition is everyone’s chance to compete for a $500k prize pool.

Join the action now for Phase 1 of the 15th Anniversary Sunday Storm, or hop into action on May 10 to take your pick of events across all three buy-in tiers.
