Once more, 888poker is bringing a docu-series following its ambassadors on their Las Vegas journey, with a focus on the Main Event.
This year’s series follows five players, starting from the moment they embark on the journey. The first episode is out now, and it is aptly titled The Pilgrimage, as it brings us glimpses of traveling from different parts of the world to Las Vegas, as well as players’ thoughts and emotions about playing in poker’s biggest tournament.
Featured in the 2026 series are five ambassadors: Lucia Navarro, Vivian Saliba, Ian Simpson, Nick Eastwood, and Aaron Barone.
A Long Trip Worth Taking
For many players, playing in the Main Event means taking a long journey and spending time away from their families, and 888poker ambassadors are no different in that regard. However, one thing they can all agree on is that it is a sacrifice worth taking, because, as Lucia Navarro puts it succinctly, “It’s the best place in the world for a poker player.”
The first episode sees all five players arrive in Las Vegas, with the Main Event being their primary objective. However, with some time to spare, they spend it very differently.
Vivian jumps straight into action, playing the $10k PLO Championship and trying her luck in a variation she knows pretty well. Aaron and Nick are out in the streets looking for some proper American food, while Ian’s first order of business is getting accustomed to being away from home and his daughter.
Five different players, five different perspectives, but all of them equally as excited for the opportunity to play in the Main Event. Even Aaron, who is generally not focused on live tournaments, is buzzing to be in Vegas, and he was one of the most active ambassadors on social media, sharing every step of the journey that culminated in his best career run.
More Las Vegas Adventures Coming
The first episode is just about warming up, but there are four more coming, and they’ll detail the whole experience for each of the five players. Some did better than others, and it is showing these different perspectives and emotions that the series is all about.
For Barone, playing the Main was never something he thought would become an important part of his life and career, but at this point, coming back for the fourth time, he is able to fully grasp the magic of the moment.
Lucia Navarro, on the other hand, has been visiting Vegas and the World Series of Poker for ten years straight, and she’s never had any doubts about the Main Event — it was always the dream and the goal.
For Nick Eastwood, it’s an opportunity to put bad results behind, turn things around, and “remind myself that I’m a half-decent player at this game.”
They may be wearing 888poker colors, but, like all poker players, these five have their personal hopes, dreams, and aspirations that go beyond representing the brand. They are professionals in every way, but also very passionate about the game.
The real action kicks off in the next episode, and from there on, the focus will be on chips, cards, and handling tough decisions. In the meantime, you can enjoy The Pilgrimage to get a pretty good understanding of what it is that grinders do and how they prepare mentally for the challenge ahead.
