Everest Poker’s French online poker room became the first to debut new native mobile clients on iPoker.

The iOS client, with support for all iPhones and iPads, is available in the French iTunes App Store, and an Android app is available via direct download from the site.

The new app features cash game tables at No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha with fast-fold Speed Poker available for Hold’em. Up to four tables can be played simultaneously. Tournaments are not yet supported, but will be added by April, 2014.

Skins on the primary iPoker dot-com network began to roll out browser-based HTML5 apps back in September; Bet365 and Winner Poker were the first rooms to go live with the new product and have since been joined by Titan, Coral and BetFred.

However, Everest is thought to be the first to offer native apps. In both look and feature set the new native clients are identical to the existing browser-based clients, but the user experience is vastly improved.

Everest Poker closed its independent poker room and switched its brands to iPoker in November 2012. It provided an immediate 15% boost to traffic on the dot-com network and invigorated a previously-dormant iPoker France. Other skins on the small network include Titan Poker and Unibet.

Last month, the company announced a major relaunch of its main poker product “in the coming months,” with eyes squarely on PartyPoker, which currently occupies third position in the French market.

The mobile poker market is the fastest growing—in fact, the only growing—sector of the French poker market, explaining the impetus behind this high-priority launch.
