This time around, PokerStars has gone a step further than last year, increasing the prize pools in both Pennsylvania and Ontario by a significant portion. According to PokerStars, the Championship will feature the following prize pools across the markets:

Championship Trophies at All Buyin Levels

While the official schedule for SCOOP events in the North American markets is not yet out, the overall guarantees and the information that’s already available tells us quite a bit.

Going by last year’s schedule, the 2024 SCOOP will feature many events each day, with buy-ins ranging from as low as $10 to as high as $1,000.

The schedule will include three buy-in orbits, Low, Medium, and High, with every event being available at each of these buy-in levels.

As is traditionally the case, PokerStars will host events across many poker games, making SCOOP the perfect time for lovers of Mixed Games, PLO, and other forms of poker beyond NL Hold’em.

The SCOOP Main Event will feature a $300 buy-in across all three markets, with the guaranteed prize pool ranging from $225k to $300k, signifying at least 1,000 entries expected in each.

NASCOOP will also run a Player of the Year (POY) leaderboard on each platform, with the player with the most success earning a special Champions Trophy and taking home a lion’s share of a $10,000 prize pool.
It will be by far the biggest tournament series in North America this spring, and with less than a month to go until kick-off, the time to start getting ready is now.

Win Your Way to the 2024 SCOOP

The most straightforward way to play in SCOOP events this spring is to buy-in directly, but this is hardly the only way to make it into one of the prestigious tournaments.

For the $300 Main Event, which will be hosted on April 21, PokerStars will be offering several qualifying paths for players in the USA, with the Depositor’s Freeroll being the best chance to win the $300 ticket without any investment at all.

Make a deposit into your PokerStars US account and you will get a chance to compete in a Freeroll tournament with SCOOP Main Event tickets added to the prize pool. New customers are also welcome to sign up, get a ticket and participate.

Classic satellites will also be running on the platform, with both Main Event tickets and tickets to other SCOOP events offered and buy-ins starting as low as $1.

If you prefer to play Spin and Gos instead of traditional satellites, special edition $3 Spin and Goes will be available on the platform, awarding Main Event tickets as the top prize.

To top it all off, PokerStars is also offering special edition Power Path events dubbed Path to SCOOP, where you will be able to build your way up to SCOOP tickets from as low as $0.25.

PokerStars Bumps Up the SCOOP Prize Pools

While SCOOP is one of the most popular and traditional tournament series in the dot-com market, it is a relatively new addition to the US-facing PokerStars platforms.

Compared to last year’s edition, PokerStars has boosted the prize pools in Pennsylvania and Ontario, while the merged liquidity market of Michigan and New Jersey has retained the same overall prize pool.

In Pennsylvania, players will be playing for $2.25 million in all, compared to the $2 million last year, while Ontario players will have a chance to play for $2.3 million compared to last year’s $1.8 million — impressive growth of almost 30%.

The increase in SCOOP prize pools is a clear reflection of the growing player pool and interest in online poker in these markets, which have been showing signs of growth on a year-over-year basis.

The official SCOOP schedule for each of the markets is coming soon, so stay tuned for more information on the upcoming series as it comes along.
