PokerStars Rolls Out Mobile for Android in Spain

The rollout of PokerStars Mobile platform continues with the release of the Android application in Spain. The iOS app is expected soon.

The app offers a near-complete experience with support for cash games, SNGs, tournaments and Zoom, Hold’em and PLO games, and comes with multi-tabling support.

It was first introduced in the regulated Italian market in January 2012, rolled out in the UK in February, then deployed widely on PokerStars.FR, PokerStars.EU and PokerStars.NET in April.

PokerStars.ES has been live for just over a month, and represents approximately 60% of all cash play in Spanish regulated online poker.

The Android app can be downloaded from pokerstars.es/mobile. The delay to roll out the applications is likely due to approval from Spanish regulators. Apps for the iPhone and iPad are often delayed due to Apple’s own sometimes lengthy approval process, but can be expected soon.

Players in some countries still do not have access—Canada, Denmark and Belgium to give three notable examples—due to either regulatory procedures in some counties, or differing terms and conditions in the Apple App Store. PokerStars has chosen not to produce a definitive list of the rollout, only stating that a “multi-phase release plan” is still ongoing.
