Players on BetMGM Ontario will soon be able to compete to win a package to the BetMGM Poker Championship to be held at the ARIA Resort & Casino, Las Vegas, next month, pokerfuse can reveal.
As we reported last week, BetMGM has scheduled a slate of step satellites across its three BetMGM Poker US sites, giving players the chance to win a package worth $6000. The company has made no official mention yet of the qualifiers being made available to players in Ontario, but pokerfuse has spotted the same tournaments listed in the BetMGM Poker Ontario client.
Starting Monday, May 23, players can start their journey for as little as $5. Players progress through a total of four steps, which finish each Sunday with a Final guaranteeing two prize packages.
Each package awards the winner the $3500 buy-in to the tournament, cash towards travel expenses, and a free stay at the ARIA during the tournament, which is part of the six-week-long ARIA Poker Classic.
BetMGM Poker Championship: Key Dates

BetMGM launched in the newly regulated Ontario online poker market on April 5. It is the largest online poker room in the province as well as the top-rated Ontario online poker room in pokerfuse’s rankings. Alongside poker, it also offers an Ontario online casino and sportsbook.
An online poker offer like the qualifiers is a good example of why BetMGM is so highly regarded. It has become one of the biggest brands in North American online poker and clearly has vast ambitions. It now runs four online poker rooms across the continent — in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and now Ontario — equal to that of WSOP.
The BetMGM Poker Championship really underscores its efforts: a high stakes, premiere poker tournament running during the most important period in the poker calendar. It coincides not only with the 53rd World Series of Poker but also with the beloved competing series, the ARIA Poker Classic, which BetMGM’s tournament has become a highlight of.
It also is yet another hint that BetMGM is planning to launch real money online poker in Nevada soon, though the company is staying tight-lipped on this plan.
The online satellite path on BetMGM Ontario looks to be the same as what has been promoted on its US sites. The Daily $5 first-round guarantees three tickets to the second round, which, in turn, promises at least two tickets to a Round 3. This third round — the first of which is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22, and could run four times a week — pipes players through to a final Round 4. This tournament starts on Sunday and guarantees two packages valued at $6000.
Players can buy in at any stage. The future schedule is currently unknown, but if it follows the same structure as in the US markets, there will be Round 3s four times a week, and Final Rounds will be hosted every Sunday, with an increasing number of guaranteed packages.
