GGPoker has confirmed that Ontario online poker players will also have a chance to win a coveted $10,000 2023 WSOP Main Event seat.

They will be able to play on the official GGPoker Ontario site that utilizes GG’s world-class software and runs in partnership with WSOP. While no further details are available, the operator has told pokerfuse that Ontarians will have a separate campaign that is expected to kick off in March.

For the last three years, GGPoker, WSOP’s exclusive international partner, has also been running online bracelet events and sending hundreds of players to play at the world’s richest poker tournament series.

In 2022, the operator sent close to 250 players to play the iconic $10K buy-in Main Event.

For 2023, organizers of the 54th Annual World Series of Poker are doing everything they can to set a new record. And a large part of the effort will come from GGPoker who has committed to sending over 600 seats to the Main Event — more than the double official qualifiers from the 2022 series.

“With this year’s Road To Vegas, we’re going to see more GGPoker players than ever make their way to the world’s biggest live poker tournament,” Paul Burke, Head of PR at GGPoker, told Poker Industry PRO. “We can’t wait to see some of them make their mark in Las Vegas this summer and become WSOP legends.”

GGPoker’s famous Road to Vegas 2023 campaign will begin in March, as per sources. At least 500 seats will be won through international qualifiers, and 100 seats are guaranteed to be awarded via the operator’s subscription-based site ClubGG.net.

On top of the 600-seat giveaway, the operator has also planned additional WSOP packages to be given away via promotions, the operator confirmed to pokerfuse.

Dozens of seats are also expected to be given away through the GGPoker.ca platform that runs exclusively for Ontario online poker players.

Last year, the qualifiers started at just $1, and direct satellites were available with buy-ins starting at $250. The package was worth $12,500 and included the following

  • $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat
  • Accommodation at the hotel for seven nights
  • Round-trip flights to Las Vegas
  • Exclusive entry to GGPoker Qualifier Last Longer promotion
  • Merchandise & gifts
  • Access to the GGPoker Players’ Party & GGPoker Platinum Lounge

The Road to Vegas 2023 campaign for dot-com players and Ontarians is expected to feature a similar satellite structure with buy-ins starting at $1. Players will also be able to buy in directly on the client, as seen every year.

GGMasters Anniversary Overlay Edition for Ontarians

Meanwhile, as Ontarians patiently wait for the Road to Vegas promotional kickoff, they can participate in the anniversary edition of the operator’s marquee GGMasters tournament.

For the first time ever, the operator has pledged to add $100,000 to the prize pool for no cost. This means that regardless of the event’s turnout, there will be a guaranteed $100k added to the pool.

The buy-in for the special event has been set to $150 and will feature seven Day 1 flights, each structured as a freezeout. These will run from February 19 and run through February 27.

Qualifiers are already underway from just $2.
