For many years, BetMGM online casinos were a part of M life Rewards, a long-standing loyalty program encompassing all online products and live venues owned by MGM Resorts. Beginning February 1, 2022, the company has switched over to its new rewards scheme, separating its online and live elements to some extent.

In the new program, online players earn their loyalty points under the revamped BetMGM Rewards program, while M life Rewards have been substituted with MGM Rewards, which focuses on the live venues. There is still a lot of crossover between the two, as players at BetMGM Casino can still exchange their online points for MGM Rewards points and use them at live properties, which include Bellagio, ARIA, MGM Grand, and Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas; Borgata in Atlantic City; Beau Rivage in Mississippi; and MGM National Harbor in Maryland.

The revamped loyalty program offers enhanced benefits and new ways to earn. For the first time, both gaming and non-gaming members alike will earn a currency — MGM Rewards Points — redeemable for complimentary dining, entertainment, hotel stays, and much more.

The program isn’t just for fans of slots and table games either — in addition to online and live casinos and resorts, sports bettors can also earn Tier Credits and BetMGM Rewards Points. Players earn Credits for every wager placed on the BetMGM Online Sportsbook or mobile sports betting app — currently available in 20 markets, including its most recent launch in its largest market to date, New York

The change came as a bit of a surprise as M life Rewards was one of the longest-standing and best-known casino loyalty schemes out there. The new program is also a bit more complex and you probably have questions about what this all means.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new BetMGM Rewards program:

BetMGM Rewards: The Biggest Changes

As mentioned, the loyalty program is now divided into two parts, with BetMGM Rewards catering to the online segment. However, all players still have access to MGM Rewards and can exchange their BetMGM Rewards points for MGM Rewards points through the loyalty store.

There are still five tiers: Sapphire, Pearl, Gold, Platinum, and Noir. However, with the new program, thresholds for the first two tiers have been reduced, so players only need to accumulate 20,000 Tier Credits to achieve the Pearl status.

Tier Credits are still accumulated together with reward points, so there are no changes there.

However, the rate at which online casino players accumulate BetMGM Rewards points has changed across the board, which is one of the biggest changes to be aware of. This is how things break down:

  • $100 worth of play on regular slots and instant-win games earns up to 20 BetMGM Rewards Points and 20 Tier Credits.
  • $100 worth of play on progressive slots earns up to 10 BetMGM Rewards Points and 10 Tier Credits.
  • For all table games, $100 worth of play translates to up to 4 BetMGM Rewards Points and 4 Tier Credits.

The new system is arguably harder to keep up with, but it has its upsides as well, especially for lower-stakes players, who will now be able to gain access to the Pearl tier faster and claim better rewards.

Perks of the New BetMGM Rewards Program

All players automatically have access to the BetMGM Rewards Store, where they can exchange their points for different perks, the most popular perk being free casino credits that can be used to play on all games available on the sites in the states where BetMGM is currently operational, including New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Michigan.

Additionally, players can also exchange their online points for MGM Rewards points, which can be used to purchase various amenities at live locations, including food and drinks, accommodation, event tickets, and more.

The BetMGM Rewards program features five tiers, and these come with additional perks — with each new tier including all the perks from the previous one:

  • Sapphire (0 – 19,999 Tier Credits): Discounted rooms at live MGM Resorts venues and free $5 birthday and BetMGM Anniversary bets:
  • Pearl *(20,000 – 75,000 TC): $10 free bets and 10% boost on the points’ generation rate
  • Gold (75,000+ TC): $25 free bets, 20% boost on points, access to premium customer support
  • Platinum (200,000+ TC): $100 free bets, 30% points boost, expedited window service offered at all BetMGM sportsbooks available across MGM Resorts properties
  • Noir (Invite Only): $200 free bets, 40% boost on points, and access to a dedicated VIP host

Extra Welcome Perks for Vegas Players

To celebrate the launch of the new and improved loyalty program, MGM is offering a Tier Multiplier promotion. From Feb 1 until April 30, all members will earn a 2x multiplier on Tier Credits earned through gaming and non-gaming activities at one of the brand’s dozen Las Vegas properties. (at the new earning rates)

The good news is that players will still earn credits towards their MGM Rewards status while playing online, which gives them access to all sorts of perks available at land-based properties, such as complimentary tickets, free parking, not having to pay resort fees, airline credits, and much more.

Overall, the new BetMGM loyalty program is a bit more complicated but also more layered, which should result in an overall increase in player satisfaction levels as they will get access to rewards that are better tailored to their gaming habits and preferences.
