The GGPoker Rewards program is a multi-tier loyalty scheme named Ocean Rewards. The new rewards scheme was introduced at the start of 2026, replacing the Fish Buffet. While keeping its sea theme, the new program offers better rewards, with players able to get up to 80% of their rake back.
On this page, we bring you all the details of the GGPoker Ocean Rewards, including mechanics, rewards you can expect after achieving different levels, what you should be focusing on, and how to get the best value out of it.
Let’s take the plunge into the deep ocean and explore the depths of the GGPoker Rewards program together, answering all the questions you may have (and a few you didn’t even know you had).
Ocean Rewards represents an evolution of GGPoker’s rewards system from previously used Fish Buffet. The loyalty program puts focus on long term gains, allowing players to build their status over time and receive increasingly better rewards.
There are two main aspects to Ocean Rewards, namely:
With both of these combined, players can expect up to 80% rakeback if they reach the highest reward level and optimize their GEMs exchange.
GGPoker’s loyalty program consists of eight indivdual tiers that players can progress through by collecting Tide Points (TP). Tide Points are accumulated at a rate of 100 TPs for every $1 in generated rake.
Players start at the Fish level, where the rakeback percentage is around 16%, and can get up to Shark to unlock 80% rakeback. Below, you can see the full breakdown of Ocean Rewards tiers, points required to unlock them, and the expected rakeback percentage:
| Tier Level | Points Required | Expected Rakeback |
|---|---|---|
| 1 Fish | 0 TP | 16% |
| 2 Shrimp | 10,000 TP | 25% |
| 3 Crab | 50,000 TP | 30% |
| 4 Turtle | 200,000 TP | 40% |
| 5 Octopus | 750,000 TP | 50% |
| 6 Dolphin | 2,000,000 TP | 60% |
| 7 Whale | 5,000,000 | 70% |
| 8 Shark | 10,000,000 | 80% |
Once you achieve a certain Tier Level, it will remain active through the end of the calendar year. This helps remove the pressure, allowing you to take a break and come back to the grind a few weeks or even months later, and pick up right where you left off.
In addition to Tide Points, all play on GGPoker also generates GEMs. At the basic level, these are generated at the same rate of 100 GEMs for $1 in rake paid. However, as you reach higher Tiers, you’ll unlock GEM multipliers, which will allow you to collect them even faster. Full details on tier-based multipliers are yet to come.
GEMs have no influence on your Ocean Rewards status. They offer additional rewards that you can claim through the rewards shop, exchanging them for cashback (and other perks that are yet to be revealed). The more GEMs you exchange in one go, the better the value you get. For example:
This means that, unless you have to, you’re better off accumulating your GEMs over a period of time and exchanging them less frequently and in bigger bulks.
Tide Points (and GEMs) are essential to your progression through the GGPoker Rewards system and, ultimately, for your rakeback.
On average, you can expect to get 100 Tide Points (TP) and 100 GEMs for every $1 you pay in rake. However, GGPoker uses a calculation system that takes other factors into consideration as well, which means that this number won’t be the same across the board.
This system is known as the Player Value Index (PVI), and it considers a number of factors when calculating how many points a player gets for a certain amount of rake paid. Full details of the GGPoker PVI aren’t available to general public, but we’ll try our best here to explain how it works (as much as possible).
Affecting the exact number of FPs you’ll get for $1 in rake and fees paid is your deposit history, behavior at the tables, types of games you play, etc. Generally speaking, the GGPoker PVI system favors recreational players more, while winning recs can expect somewhat lower returns.
So, the advertised number (100 TPs for $1 in rake) is more of a guideline than an actual figure you can fully rely on. Two players paying the same amount in rake will end up with different points totals, depending on the factors mentioned above. The PVI will put all this together and come up with a total using a formula that, once again, isn’t publicly available.
In general, recreational players get more value from the PVI, while regular, winning players often find themselves on the lower end of the spectrum. For example:
Once again, this isn’t exactly how the PVI formula works at GGPoker, but it gives you an idea of what you can expect. As a long-term winning player, you are guaranteed to get fewer points for the rake paid than a completely recreational player who deposits often and withdraws rarely or never.
Ocean Rewards is GGPoker’s rewards program that was introduced in early 2026, giving players access to up to 80% rakeback.
The GGPoker Rewards System offers up to 80% rakeback to players who manage to reach the highest, Shark tier level, through the combination of direct rakeback and cashback rewards available via GEMs.
You’ll be earning Tide Points (TPs) at an average rate of 100 TPs for every $1 paid in rake and fees. However, other factors will influence this rate as well, such as types of games you play, your playing style, deposit history, etc.
GEMs are accumulated alongside Tide Points at the rate of 100 GEMs for $1 in rake paid. They don’t influence your loyalty status but you can exchange them for cashback in the rewards store. The base rate is $1 for 1,000 GEMs, but the exchange rate improves the more GEMs you exchange in one go.
Once you unlock a certain tier within GGPoker’s Ocean Rewards program, it will last you through the end of the calendar year.
Fish Buffet was retired by GGPoker and substituted with new and improved Ocean Rewards program in late January 2026.
