What’s next for PokerStars on FanDuel over in the United States?
PokerStars on FanDuel has launched in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, now sharing a player pool across all three.
But what’s next for the brand?
Delaware and Rhode Island are basically written off for regulatory reasons, so the real attention turns to West Virginia, Connecticut, Maine, and Nevada.
Daniel Negreanu put his money where his mouth is in this year’s $25K Fantasy draft, drafting himself for $116.
He was only outpriced by Shaun Deeb and Michael Moncek, with Deeb going for a whopping $133.
Negreanu’s advice for teams? Don’t blow your budget on one superstar, even if it’s Deeb. He told PokerOrg:
Some teams are willing to go all-in on one guy because they feel like they have a really good stable of $1 guys. However, if you look historically at this draft, those teams don’t typically win; the more balanced teams do.
With 44 players available for just $1, Negreanu sees the value in finding hidden gems.
But make no mistake—he’s confident in his own ability to rack up points, which explains why he didn’t hesitate to draft himself. Sometimes the best value is the player you know best.
PokerNews’ latest podcast episode, hosted by Chad Holloway and Mike Holtz with guest Matt Berkey, dives into the unexpected controversy over which logos players are allowed to wear at the 2026 WSOP.
They also touch on Charlie Carrel’s ongoing ban from entering the US, a fallout from a drug-related arrest nearly a decade ago, and the ongoing bankruptcy issues of Maurice Hawkins, who has now included his backer, Cody Stanford, in his court filings.
Winamax pro Adrian Mateos takes down the Triton Invitational.
He pockets $6.4 million for the win. Amazing scenes.

Garrett Adelstein will join The Lodge Card Club’s high-stakes live-stream in Texas, marking the club’s YouTube return since being raided in March.
This will be Adelstein’s first major public poker appearance after the infamous “Jack-Four” scandal and subsequent ban from Hustler Casino Live.
He has also been making noise online about his upcoming memoir, Beneath the Cards, where he promises to share untold stories and revisit the cheating allegations that rocked the poker world.

WSOP 2026 Day 1 recap already gave poker fans plenty to talk about.
The 2026 World Series of Poker kicked off at Horseshoe Las Vegas yesterday and the headlines started immediately. Martin Kabrhel returned in classic fashion, standing up mid-hand and sparking a debate over whether his hand should’ve been ruled dead. Players weighed in, the floor got involved, and poker Twitter quickly picked sides.
Then came one of the funniest moments of the day: during the $550 Mini Mystery Millions, an actual hand-ranking/rules card somehow ended up on the flop before anyone noticed. The clip instantly made the rounds online.
Meanwhile, the curtain surrounding the new Thunderdome/Mothership setup continues building anticipation. Daniel Negreanu played coy, Kabrhel claimed to have seen it and approved (“finally”), and others called the setup impressive. The ballroom feels different (dimmer, warmer, rearranged).
And Shaun Deeb dropped a bomb: just 30 minutes into the table, Nicky P allegedly threatened to spit on another player “if they were outside” and then tried to fight him.
Day 1 may be over, but the 2026 WSOP is already off to an entertaining start.
During the $550 Mini Mystery Millions Flight A, a physical hand rankings/rules card somehow ended up on the flop before anyone noticed. Pure comedy and instantly one of the funniest clips of the early series.
Martin Kabrhel, the ultra-talkative, polarizing Czech pro who some players can’t stand and others find hilarious, wasted no time generating buzz. In one early incident, Kabrhel briefly got up/moved away from his hand while standing and talking, prompting tablemates (including Matt Salsberg) to call the floor and argue the hand should be dead.
The floor apparently ruled in Kabrhel’s favor, or at least didn’t kill the hand, which immediately sparked debate online. PokerNews posted a video of the moment, asking whether the hand should’ve been ruled dead.
