Second response from Lee Jones regarding the EPT Barcelona stolen laptop saga twoplustwo.com

This is the second and latest official response from PokerStars regarding the laptop theft saga at the EPT event in Barcelona. Responding on 2+2, Lee Jones, Head of PokerStars Communications, corrected a previous statement saying the police had been involved (they now have been, at both the local and national police).

Despite posters’ apparent evidence to the contrary, Jones asserts that there is currently no evidence of an “inside job” from hotel staff. He states that the company will continue working with officials as much as possible, but cautions that there is a limit to their capabilities.

Though the poker event is wrapped up, expects this story to continue for a lot longer.

The Italian government asks the Senate to look again at a motion passed last week which would ban all online gambling in Italy for 12 months. Last week, the Italian Senate voted to ban the issue of all new gambling licenses and impose a moratorium on all forms of gambling for one year. The motion was introduced by the Northern League who are in opposition to the government.
