Peak Traffic: Nevada Online Poker Market Matches its Population Size
The number of cash game seats in Nevada as a proportion of its population fits the same ratio observed in markets worldwide.
- Total Nevada cash game traffic is now lower than it was six weeks after UP launched at the end of April last year.
- Nevada has a population of 2.75m and total cash game traffic is currently 179 seats filled
- The current average number of cash game seats filled hovers around 0.006% of the population in almost all of the regulated and segregated markets.
- Nevada is at or slightly above this average suggesting that there is not much extra growth to be expected.
UK Gambling Bill Clears House of Lords Vote
The UK’s new gambling bill is on target to become law by the Summer.
- The UK House of Lords has voted its final approval of the Gambling (Licensing and Advertising) bill that will require operators with UK customers to have a license from the UK Gambling Commission (UKGC).
- The bill will now go to the House of Commons for its final reading and vote, before coming into law, sometime before the House of Parliament breaks for its Summer recess.
