With Christmas just around the corner and online poker rooms across the market rolling out festive promotions, BetRivers Poker is also getting involved with a pair of holiday-themed campaigns of its own.

The operator is running two in-client promotions running through the holiday period, complemented by a light-hearted social media giveaway tied to one of poker’s most recognizable names.

Together, the campaigns focus on rewarding regular cash game and tournament play, while adding a seasonal element through limited-edition merchandise and an ambassador-led giveaway.

One of the cornerstones of BetRivers Poker’s ongoing promotional calendar has been Rakeback Revolution, and the operator has brought it back for the holiday stretch with a seasonal twist. Rebranded as Rakeback Resolution for the new year, the promotion runs from December 24 through January 1 and offers players an extra 20% rakeback on cash game play.

Under the promotion, players earn $1 in Poker Bonus for every $5 in cash game rake generated during a given day. Any day in which a player generates at least $5 in rake qualifies, with bonuses calculated and credited on a daily basis. There is no opt-in requirement, keeping the process straightforward for players logging in during the busy holiday period.

While not a one-off Christmas gimmick, the timing of the promotion makes it an easy way for regular cash game players to extract additional value during a period when traffic is typically higher and schedules are more flexible.

Rakeback Resolution is available to players in Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia.

Sock the Halls: A Seasonal Side Promotion

Alongside rakeback incentives, the operator has added a more playful holiday promotion titled Sock the Halls. Running from December 20 to 31, the promotion offers players a chance to win limited-edition BetRivers socks featuring their poker ambassadors Phil Hellmuth and Phil Galfond, branded respectively as “Naughty” and “Nice.”

The promotion is open to players across all four states where the operator serves players: Delaware, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Unlike leaderboard giveaways, Sock the Halls is built around participation rather than volume, with multiple paths to earning entries.

Players can win socks directly by playing designated Santa emoji-tagged tournaments, where one pair is awarded to the tournament winner and another to the direct bubble. Alternatively, entries into daily prize drawings can be earned through cash games or sit and go play. Every ten real-money cash game hands earns one drawing entry, while every three real-money sit and go tournaments also count as a single entry. Each day, five cash game entries and three sit and go entries are drawn.

There is no cap on the number of entries a player can earn, and, as with the rakeback promotion, no opt-in is required. Winners are notified by email after the promotion concludes, with prizes shipped directly to the address on file.

While the socks themselves are more novelty than value-driven, the promotion fits neatly alongside BetRivers’ broader holiday approach, offering something tangible without overshadowing the core poker offering.

Phil Hellmuth and a Social Media Giveaway

In addition to its in-client promotions, BetRivers is also leveraging its partnership with Phil Hellmuth for a separate Christmas giveaway on social media. Through its official X account, the operator is giving away a dozen PlayStation 5 consoles, adding a broader lifestyle angle to its holiday marketing.

The giveaway sits outside the poker client itself, but reinforces the operator’s ongoing use of Hellmuth as a promotional figurehead, particularly during high-visibility periods like the holidays.

Elsewhere in the regulated North American market, PokerStars is once again running its familiar Christmas promotions for US and Ontario players. The operator has brought back 25 Days of Tournaments, where tournaments and guarantees are revealed one day at a time, alongside Holiday Rewards, a cash game promotion tied to completing a set number of hands.

Together, the two promotions span most of December and into early January, continuing PokerStars’ tradition of structured, calendar-based holiday promotions across its regulated platforms.

At the time of writing, WSOP and BetMGM, the other regulated US online poker rooms in, have not announced any Christmas-themed promotions.
