What Poker Skills Do You Still Work On?
The first 40-second video of ‘Between Two Phils’ asks an important question: what poker skills do you still work on? Given that both players have played for decades and are considered among the best in their respective fields (PLO and big-field (WSOP) tournaments), it was interesting to hear whether there is any part of their game they still feel needs work.
Not surprisingly, Galfond provided a more detailed and elaborate answer, saying that he can hardly think of a skill that he stopped working on (as long as he believed it was still useful). In his usual style, he underlines that one can never play perfectly and understand the game in its entirety. “There is no finish line if you really want to compete.”
Hellmuth wasn’t nearly as elaborate in his answer, stating that the only skill he’s still working on is “playing when I’m emotionally tilted.” Does this mean Poker Brat just didn’t feel like giving a longer answer, or he believes there is nothing else he really needs to work on (apart from trying not to get unlucky) — you be the judge!
