Phil Galfond, the man credited with creating the online poker room now known as BetRivers Poker — and the primary ambassador for the platform, will be livestreaming his gameplay this weekend.
On both Friday and Saturday, Galfond will be playing on BetRivers Poker from Delaware, a market where BetRivers Poker recently launched, and broadcasting his sessions — including both cash games and tournaments — with a likely short delay. The livestream will be available on his official YouTube channel.
To celebrate Galfond’s return to livestreaming online poker, BetRivers will boost guarantees of the tournaments he enters and revive the popular I Knocked Out a VIP promotion.

BetRivers Poker is the most recent entrant into the regulated online poker market in the United States. The platform launched in Pennsylvania in late September, entering into competition with established operators such as PokerStars, WSOP, and BetMGM Poker.
For the first few months, the site operated a single-state network limited to Pennsylvania online poker players. However, the operator had previously indicated plans to expand into additional regulated states.
That expansion took place on June 10, when BetRivers Poker launched in three new states: Delaware, Michigan, and West Virginia. From day one, all of these states were integrated into a shared player pool with Pennsylvania, resulting in a four-state network.
“This is a big moment for us,” Galfond told pokerfuse earlier this month. “Seeing players from Michigan, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Delaware finally sharing tables is exciting — especially for those in West Virginia who are finally getting the poker platform they deserve, and those in Delaware who haven’t had a place to play for the past 18 months.”
Since the launch of shared liquidity, BetRivers Poker has been steadily gaining momentum. Player traffic has been increasing, and tournament prize pools have been growing week after week. In response to this growth and player demand, the operator has been raising its tournament guarantees accordingly.
For example, the $100 Sunday Main Event, which had a $7,500 guarantee prior to the expansion, now offers a double-sized $15,000 guarantee. In last Sunday’s edition, the tournament attracted 191 entries and generated a total prize pool of $17,668. Its miniature counterpart, featuring a $10 buy-in, drew nearly 500 participants and amassed a prize pool of $4,383.
In addition, the newly introduced $200 Sunday High Roller attracted 77 entries, resulting in a prize pool of over $14,000.
“We’ve seen tremendous interest in BetRivers Poker since our multi-state launch, and that momentum has carried into July,” Jesse Wilke, Director of Poker Marketing at Rush Street Interactive, parent company of BetRivers, said in a statement to pokerfuse.
With Galfond set to livestream his sessions this weekend, the operator has stated that tournament guarantees will be increased once again.
BetRivers Poker Software Features and Promotions Create Exceptional Value
What sets BetRivers Poker apart from its competitors is a variety of factors, including its software, rake and rewards structure, gameplay experience, and distinctive features. These include Dynamic Avatars, a built-in Heads-Up Display (HUD) called HeroIQ, anonymized screen names, and more — making it the only regulated online poker site in the US to offer such a comprehensive set of unique features.
Just like in cash games, anonymity is also preserved in tournaments. Players are unaware of who they are competing against until opponents are eliminated and screen names are revealed. This system is designed to protect the game’s overall ecology. Additionally, tournaments display an estimated duration before they begin, providing players — especially recreational ones — with an idea of how long the event is expected to last.
The last time Galfond streamed was back in November, when he was joined by fellow ambassador and 17 time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth. On that occasion, BetRivers ran a set of special promotions, including the “I Knocked Out a VIP” campaign.
BetRivers has confirmed that this promotion will return, giving players a chance to win an “I Knocked Out a VIP” t-shirt if they manage to eliminate Galfond. It has not yet been confirmed whether Hellmuth will also participate in this weekend’s livestream and join Galfond as he did previously.
Meanwhile, BetRivers Poker will continue running several of its ongoing promotions, including cash game leaderboards, the SNG Startup promotion that awards SNG tickets, the Run It Up promotion where players can win up to $111 in tournament tickets each week, and its regular, generous rakeback program.
