The prestigious BetMGM Online Championships series has returned, and this time it is bigger than ever before. In fact, it stands as the largest tournament series the network has run since its inception.
A total of $3 million is guaranteed across 70 tournaments, with the festival scheduled to kick off on September 21 and run through October 5.
The Online Championships is the flagship tournament series of BetMGM Poker, comparable in stature to PokerStars’ COOP festivals, which take place twice annually — once in the spring and again in the fall. In a similar fashion, the BetMGM Online Championships serves as the crown jewel of the operator’s online tournament calendar.

This edition marks a special milestone, as it is the first time the series is being held since Pennsylvania joined the shared liquidity pool with New Jersey and Michigan. The expanded player base has allowed the network to significantly boost its guarantees.
Last year, the Online Championships guaranteed $2 million for New Jersey and Michigan online poker players, while Pennsylvania ran a separate $800,000 edition. Both series featured 58 tournaments.
Now, with all three states united in one network, the series has grown considerably, with average guarantees per tournament notably higher.

Series Highlights
As befitting a Championships series, the buy-ins trend toward the higher side, ranging from $25 to $2,500, with the overall average landing at $171. Of the 70 events, 26 will award the coveted Championship trophy to the winner.
The schedule offers plenty of variety, catering to players of different preferences. Among the 70 events are 15 Progressive Knockouts (PKOs), 12 Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments (including two PLO-8 events), plus several Turbos, Deepstack formats, 40-stack structures, and more.
Another major highlight is the notable increase in six-figure guarantee events. Whereas in the past, only one or two tournaments carried such guarantees, this time six events have crossed the mark. Chief among them are the $250 Sunday Main Events, scheduled for September 21, 28, and October 5, each carrying a $100,000 guarantee.
The flagship Six Figure Sunday also makes its return on September 21 with a $1,000 buy-in and a $300,000 guarantee. Joining it is the $2,500 Super High Roller, which also carries a $300,000 guarantee. The single biggest event of the festival is the $1,000 Championship, boasting a $400,000 guarantee. Each of these showcase events will award a trophy to the winner.
Additional standout tournaments include the $100 Sunday C-Note, a staple from the daily schedule that will feature boosted guarantees of up to $50,000. The $500 High Rollers, scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, come with $65,000 guarantees, while the daily $100 C-Note continues with a $35,000 guarantee.
At the lower buy-in end, players can take part in the $25 Sunday Quarter, scheduled for September 21 and 28. Both editions offer a $15,000 guarantee and will also award trophies to the winners.
This will be the third tournament festival on the BetMGM Poker network since the multi-state merger. Immediately after merging the three states, the operator rolled out the May Millions, which guaranteed $1 million across 18 events, averaging $55,556 per tournament. That festival attracted more than 7,000 entries and paid out $1.2 million, with an average payout of nearly $70,000 per event.
In July, BetMGM followed up with the Summer Classic, which guaranteed $1.1 million across 36 tournaments, averaging $30,556 per event. Now, the flagship Online Championships has raised the bar even higher, with $3 million spread across 70 tournaments, an average of $42,857 per tournament.
The BetMGM Online Championships takes place from September 21 to October 5.
