The widely popular live tournament series for East Coast players, the Borgata Fall Poker Open, has been officially confirmed to return this fall. Borgata, in collaboration with its official partner BetMGM Poker, jointly announced the comeback in a press release issued on Wednesday.

Scheduled to run from November 7 to 17, the Borgata Fall Poker Open (BFPO) will take place at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa in Atlantic City, New Jersey. This marks the much-anticipated return of the prestigious live series after a hiatus of five years.

The return of the BFPO follows the resounding success of the Borgata Summer Poker Open, which ran from July 17 to August 1. That series drew nearly 10,000 entries and awarded over $5.5 million in total prize money.

Due to overwhelming demand and strong turnout, the organizers have now confirmed a fall edition as well. This completes Borgata’s annual seasonal series of Poker Opens, with editions now set for Winter, Spring, Summer, and, finally, Fall.

While the full schedule for the Borgata Fall Poker Open 2025 is set to be unveiled in late September, the organizers have already confirmed that the festival will offer over $2 million in guaranteed prize pools.

This announcement is part of a trio of events confirmed by Borgata and BetMGM in Wednesday’s press release, all of which are scheduled to take place over the next three months. As previously revealed, Borgata will launch the Borgata Big, Big Buy Series, powered by BetMGM Poker, from September 8 to 17. This series will offer more than $6.5 million in guaranteed prize pools.

In October, a new event titled Lions of the Atlantic will debut. Scheduled from October 8 to 19, this unique tournament features a cross-property format involving both MGM National Harbor and Borgata. Day 1 flights will be held at each venue, offering players at both locations a chance to advance.

Finally, the Borgata Fall Poker Open, powered by BetMGM, will return from November 3 to 17.

For all three events, BetMGM Poker will serve as the exclusive online platform for qualification and registration. Players will be able to register in real time using the BetMGM Poker app. In addition, online satellites will be available with buy-ins starting at just $5.

“BetMGM and Borgata are redefining poker by creating the go-to destination for tournament and cash game players alike,” said Kellie Decelis, Borgata’s Director of Poker Operations, in a press release. “Through our partnership, premier events like the Borgata Big, Big Buy Series and Lions of the Atlantic, and the new BetMGM Poker Tournament Room, we’re delivering an unparalleled poker experience that blends innovation, excitement, and opportunity for players of every level.”

Borgata Fall Poker Open (November 3 — 17)

The Borgata Fall Poker Open has long been a favorite stop for players. In recent years, November had been reserved for the Borgata Fall Mini-Series, but after a five-year break, the full-scale Borgata Fall Poker Open is finally making its return to the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, replacing the Mini-Series.

Although the full schedule has yet to be released, organizers have confirmed that at least $2 million in guaranteed prize money will be up for grabs during the festival.

Expect the return of popular tournaments such as the Almighty Stack, Survivor, Black Chip Bounty, Deepstack Mystery Bounty, and the Main Event/Championship, which is expected to offer a guarantee close to $1 million.

Regulars on the East Coast poker scene will remember the Borgata Fall Poker Open as a long-standing staple. However, following the pandemic, the event had not been held. Borgata continued to host other seasonal events — including the Winter edition in January, Spring in April to May, Summer in July, and the Borgata Poker Open in September — but the Fall edition had been absent.

The last BFPO took place in 2019 and featured nearly two dozen events, including a $2,700 Championship tournament.

As part of the partnership, BetMGM Poker will host online qualifiers for players in New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania, with buy-ins starting as low as $5. Players will also have the ability to register directly for the BFPO events via the BetMGM Poker platform which also includes a skin for Borgata Poker.

Borgata Big, Big Buy Series (September 8 — 17)

Before the Fall Poker Open, East Coast tournament regulars will have the opportunity to compete in a new series: the Borgata Big, Big Buy Series. As the name suggests, this is a major series featuring $6.5 million in guaranteed prize pools.

This new event effectively replaces last year’s Borgata Poker Open, which ran in September and featured $4 million in guarantees across 30 events.

The Big, Big Buy Series consists of nine events and celebrates the launch of the newly unveiled BetMGM Poker Tournament Room at Borgata, which now houses 18 tables.

Buy-ins begin at $580 and climb to $10,000 for the Big Big Baller High Roller, which boasts a $500,000 guarantee.

The headline event of the series is the BetMGM Poker Millionaire Championship, taking place from September 13 to 17. This tournament offers a $3 million guaranteed prize pool, with $1 million guaranteed to the first-place winner. BetMGM will host numerous online satellites for this event with buy-ins starting at $10 through September 14.

Other notable events include The Big, Big Kick Off (September 8–9), a $2,200 buy-in tournament featuring two Day 1 flights and a $1 million guarantee.

Etay’s Big, Big 9 Game Mix will run September 9–10, with a $2,500 buy-in and a $250,000 prize pool guarantee. From September 10 to 11, players can enter The Big, Big PKO Bounty, which features a $2,200 buy-in and a $500,000 guarantee.

Both online and on-site satellites will run leading up to the series. Online qualifiers are already in progress, with buy-ins starting at just $5 and continuing through September 15.

Lions of the Atlantic (October 8 — 19)

A unique addition to the Borgata tournament calendar is Lions of the Atlantic. This is the first-ever cross-property poker event connecting MGM National Harbor and Borgata within a single tournament.

The event has a $600 buy-in and a $2 million guarantee. Five starting flights will take place at MGM National Harbor between October 8 and 12, while the other five flights will be held at Borgata from October 14 to 17. All players who advance to Day 2 will continue their play at Borgata beginning October 18. Each Day 2 qualifier will also receive a two-night stay at Borgata, covering October 17 and 18.

Once again, BetMGM will run online satellites starting at $5 for the Borgata flights, beginning September 1.

“These three events directly demonstrate the growth of BetMGM Poker and our continued partnership with Borgata,” said David Mileaf, Senior Manager of Poker Operations at BetMGM Poker. “By bringing bigger buy-ins, larger prize pools and a diverse tournament structure to players this fall, we cement our status as the premier online and on-property poker destinations.”
