If there is one poker site that has been particularly active in recent weeks in the regulated US online poker market, it is BetRivers Poker.
Since expanding into three additional states and launching its four-state shared liquidity network earlier in the summer, the operator has been quite active with a flurry of updates. These include new promotions, boosted tournament guarantees and a fresh Sunday tournament lineup to meet the growing demand from players.
In the past few days alone, the operator has introduced the hugely popular Progressive Knockout (PKO) tournament format, enhanced its Sunday offerings, and bumped tournament prize pool guarantees.
Moreover, Phil “The Poker Brat” Hellmuth, who represents the brand, will continue livestreaming this weekend, with his session paired with the “I Knocked Out a VIP” promotion.
- The best online poker software in the US with the lowest cash game rake.
- Generous 100% deposit match bonus up to $1000 ($250 in Delaware)
- Now live for players in Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware & West Virginia!
After a few trials, PKOs are now officially live on BetRivers Poker. These tournaments, long a favorite across major online poker sites, work by splitting entry fees into two prize pools. One portion is reserved for traditional payouts based on how far players advance, while the other is placed as a bounty on each player’s head. Whoever eliminates a player claims that bounty. Traditionally, the split is an even 50/50.
The progressive variation of this format adds another twist: when a bounty is won, only part of it is paid immediately. The other part is transferred onto the winning player’s own bounty, increasing the value of knocking them out later in the tournament. Again, the split is usually 50/50.
This dynamic has made PKOs one of the most exciting and fun formats in online poker, and BetRivers has finally joined other major operators in offering it.
“We are pleased to introduce PKOs to the BetRivers platform and bring this exciting format to one of our flagship Sunday majors. This is one of the most requested updates our players have asked for, and we’re excited to deliver it,” the operator told pokerfuse.
Players can now find PKO tournaments at various buy-in levels, from as little as $1 up to $50. Notable additions to the Sunday schedule include:
- $5 Mini Sunday Special PKO — $1,500 guarantee
- $50 Sunday Special PKO — $5,000 guarantee
Alongside these, BetRivers has also added Daily and Classic PKOs such as:
- $10 Classic PKO — $400 guarantee
- $1 Daily Dollar PKO — $50 guarantee
- $5 PLO Rush PKO – $250 guarantee
- $5 Hyper PKO – $300 guarantee
- $5 Rush PKO – $250 guarantee
- $2 Rush PKO – $100 guarantee
In addition to the PKO rollout, two new tournaments have been introduced to the Sunday lineup, both running at 4 PM ET:
- $10 Mini Sunday Starter — $1,500 guarantee
- $100 Sunday Starter — $7,500 guarantee
BetRivers is also boosting guarantees this Sunday to celebrate Hellmuth’s livestream. The $10 Mini Main climbs from $3,000 to $3,500, while the $100 Main jumps from $15,000 to $20,000. The newly launched $200 Sunday High Roller will feature a generous $25,000 guarantee.
Taken together, these updates make the BetRivers Poker schedule look increasingly competitive. Its Sunday lineup in particular now offers a solid mix of tournaments across all buy-in levels. While the platform still has some ground to cover compared to its competitors, it is steadily building momentum.
Beyond tournaments, BetRivers Poker has rolled out several promotions designed to appeal to different types of players, whether they prefer MTTs, cash games, or lottery-style sit and gos.
- Re-Entry Redemption — Tournament players get 20% back of their initial entry if they re-enter. Runs until August 24.
- SNG Select — Players earn a free SNG Select ticket worth up to $10 daily, also running until August 24.
- Cash Game Leaderboards — A weekly $11,000 prize pool is up for grabs throughout the month.
With new formats, boosted guarantees, and multiple promotions, BetRivers Poker is making strong strides toward becoming a more prominent player in the US online poker market.
