$3M Spade Championship Headlines BetMGM Poker’s New Seasonal Series

BetMGM Poker has kicked off a new year-long seasonal concept, starting with Spade Season, a three-month campaign running from January 1 through March 25, featuring a $3 million guaranteed tournament series and supported by a steady stream of cash game and promotional rewards.

The three-month campaign is led by the Spade Championship, a major online tournament series that began on January 18 and runs through February 1. With $3 million in total guarantees, it ranks among the largest tournament offerings ever run by BetMGM Poker and follows last year’s debut of its first $3 million guaranteed series.

The Spade Championship is open to US online poker players across BetMGM Poker’s shared liquidity network, consisting of player pools from New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. In total, the series features 67 numbered events, with buy-ins set at $100, $250, $500, $1,000, and $2,500, resulting in an average buy-in of $224, well above what is typically seen in most online series.

A total of 20 Trophy events are spread across the schedule, with formats ranging from PKOs and turbo tournaments to Deepstacks and PLO variants. Several marquee events carry six-figure guarantees, including the $1,000 Championship Event on February 1, which offers a $350,000 guarantee and serves as the largest event of the series. All major headline tournaments are played over two days and award trophies to winners.

Other highlights on the schedule include the $2,500 Super High Roller, set for Sunday, January 25, and carrying a $300,000 guarantee. Running alongside it on the same day is the $250 Sunday Main Event, which comes with $100,000 in guaranteed prize money.

Additional standout tournaments include the $100 Sunday C-Note, a familiar fixture on the daily schedule, which will run with boosted guarantees of up to $50,000. The schedule also features several $500 High Roller events carrying guarantees between $50,000 and $150,000.

Other notable tournaments on offer include the $250 PKO with a $35,000 guarantee, the $100 40-Stack with guarantees starting at $15,000, and the $100 PLO PKO offering a $10,000 guarantee.

Players can still qualify through satellites, which have been running since December 28, with buy-ins starting at just $2.

Leaderboards and Extra Rewards

Alongside the tournament schedule, the operator is running a Spade Championship leaderboard, where consistent performers across the series can earn extra rewards. The top 10 finishers on the leaderboard will split $15,000 in added prize money, with $5,000 going to the top-ranked player.

Tournament players aren’t the only ones getting rewarded during Spade Season. From January 1 through March 25, BetMGM Poker is running the Spade Season Pass, a cash game-focused promotion that rewards players for earning BetMGM Rewards Points (BRPs) while playing real money poker cash games.

Players must opt in once during the promotional period via the promo hub. From there, every BRP earned helps players climb through five tiers. Beginning January 8, and continuing every Thursday throughout the season, BetMGM will randomly award No Limit Hold’em cash game bonuses to five players from each tier.

The weekly bonus structure is as follows:

Tier 1 (opted-in players): $25 NLH cash game bonus
Tier 2 (500–2,499 BRPs): $50 NLH cash game bonus
Tier 3 (2,500–9,999 BRPs): $75 NLH cash game bonus
Tier 4 (10,000–49,999 BRPs): $125 NLH cash game bonus
Tier 5 (50,000+ BRPs): $250 NLH cash game bonus

At the end of Spade Season, all players who reach Tier 5 will also receive an exclusive BetMGM merchandise prize package, adding an extra incentive for high-volume cash game players.

Flip a Coin Promotion Closes Out Spade Season

Following the conclusion of the Spade Championship, BetMGM Poker will keep the momentum going with an End-of-Season Flip a Coin promotion, running from March 5 through March 18.

Players can participate daily by earning 20 BRPs at the cash game tables, unlocking a chance to play Flip a Coin. Prizes available during the promotion include:
