Get 5% of Extra Rakeback With Splash the Pot
BetRivers has made it official that Splash the Pot will account for a total of 5% of rakeback, which may not seem like a big number, but this is on top of everything the operator is already giving back through its BetRivers Poker Rewards and Rakeback Revolution.
The dynamics of the promo are as follows: all cash game tables running on BetRivers Poker will be eligible to have some cash randomly added to the pot at the start of a hand. The added amount can be anywhere from a single big blind all the way up to 1,000 big blinds.
There is no way to predict when a Splash the Pot event will occur or how much money will be added ahead of time. BetRivers explains that different cash game pools have different configurations, but, in the end, it works out to an additional 5% of the rake gathered being returned to players.
The formula used by the software to determine the likelihood of any given hand triggering a Splash the Pot event is:

Amounts added via splash are not raked, so the hand winner receives the full value of any additional money thrown into the pot.
Big Splash Dynamics — Rare But Valuable
In addition to regular Splash the Pot events, BetRivers also launched Big Splash. Unlike regular boosted hands, Big Splash hands guarantee that all active players at the table get a piece of extra cash.
The way it works is that the winner of the hand gets 70% of the added amount, while all other players receive an equal share of the remaining 30%. While no exact numbers were given, it’s safe to assume that Big Splash events will feature larger average amounts.
There are no decisions to be made, as all players are automatically placed all-in. The button remains in place for the next hand, so these events don’t have any implications on the game flow (beyond all the extra money added to players’ stacks, of course).
According to the operator’s website, Big Splash events will be quite rare, which makes sense, since the entire promo accounts for 5% rakeback, and the bulk of it will be distributed through regular Splash the Pot occurrences.
