WSOP Paradise will hope to become the go-to, unmissable high roller event of the winter. It looks set to trump the WPT Championship, which in 2023 featured an iconic Main Event that guaranteed $40 million.

In their quest to do this, the WSOP have partnered with Triton Poker for the first time, a name synonymous with super high roller events that run around the globe.

New Partnership with Triton Poker

WSOP Paradise played host to the Triton Millions event for the first time as part of the series.

The Triton Millions event began on December 7, where the field is split between invited players paired between poker pros and A list poker enthusiasts. Each pair of players contributed $1 million to the prize pool.

“We are thrilled to showcase the Triton Series in the Bahamas for the first time, marking a significant milestone in our journey,” said Andy Wong, CEO of Triton Series via press release. “This event brings us closer to North America, expanding our reach and allowing more poker enthusiasts to experience our unrivaled high-stakes format.”

“Our partnership with GGPoker and WSOP further strengthens our commitment to delivering premier poker experiences,” he added. “Hosting at the iconic Atlantis resort is an honor, as we set new benchmarks for poker tournaments and elevate the excitement and prestige of our events”.

Super Main Event Largest Guarantee in History

Even more audaciously, WSOP have revamped their Main Event to a “Super Main Event” that guaranteed $50 million. The buy-in sat at $25,000. It require 2000 players to avoid an overlay. Unfortunately the event narrowly missed its target, attracting 1,978 entries and resulting in a $550,000 overlay. However, it still became the second-largest live tournament of the year.

“This is one you can’t miss,” Daniel Negreanu, GGPoker Global Ambassador said via press release. “There were a lot of learnings from year one and everything is going to be bigger and better. A 50 million guarantee in the Bahamas! Are these guys crazy?”

“The action we saw during the WSOP summer series is a testament to the health of poker, particularly for high-roller tournaments,” said Ty Stewart, SVP & Executive Director of the WSOP. “Last year was no onetime gimmick. We’re thrilled GGPoker has reaffirmed their commitment to building WSOP Paradise through the biggest guarantee in poker history.”

Online Day 1 Flights for Super Main Event Running on GGPoker

On September 29, GGPoker hosted the first Online Day 1 flight to the WSOP Paradise 2024 Super Main Event. Players can buy into the tournament for $26,000, and 15% of the field will progress directly to Day 3, which means all who make it will already be in the money come December.

GGPoker put a guarantee on the event, so the minimum of 30 players will progress to Day 3 regardless of the number of entries. On top of this, all who survive the day will also pick up a WSOP Paradise package, worth over $20,000.

The package covers a two-week stay at the Atlantis (including food), provides access to exclusive GGPoker merchandise, and an entry into a $1,000,000 freeroll.

Players can win their way to the Online Day 1 via special Road to Paradise tournaments, where buy-ins start at just $1. Qualifiers run around the clock, while the main satellite, which costs $2,500 to buy into directly, took place on September 22.

This was the first Day 1 Online to take place on GGPoker.

WSOP Paradise Returns to The Atlantis

As we know WSOP Paradise returns to the iconic Atlantis Paradise Island hotel and resort for a second year running, making it a great location for players looking for some winter sun.

“We are thrilled to welcome back WSOP Paradise players, guests, and fans for the second year to Atlantis Paradise Island, the entertainment capital of the Caribbean. This monumental tournament offers attendees the opportunity to experience Atlantis’ $150 million renovation, including the opulent Atlantis Casino, Bar Sol, The Royal Towers, and several new dining options. See you in Paradise!” said Joe Brunini, Chief Gaming and Customer Development Officer at Atlantis Paradise Island.

The WSOP+ App Returns To Streamline Live Experience

The WSOP+ App was missing during this year’s WSOP 2024 live series in Las Vegas, but returned to the Paradise event for 2024.

It is an app designed to speed up registration & gameplay processes. It was a huge hit in 2023 when it debuted at WSOP Paradise 2023.

It allows players to load up a bankroll and register for events online, avoiding long registration lines and getting into events quickly and fuss-free. It then shows live tournament stats, like flight levels, players remaining, and prize pool distribution.

It was recommended that anyone playing the Paradise series to install it so that you can easily stay up to date with real-time info, tournament details and registration.

Features of the WSOP+ app include:

  • WSOP info given in real life
  • Push notifications
  • Live tournament clock
  • Tournament registration
  • Access to a live tournament clock of all WSOP events running at the time
    • Including remaining players
    • The current level
    • Prize pool distribution

Online Qualifiers for WSOP Paradise (Now over)

Like 2023 the online satellites for WSOP Paradise 2024 took place across four key platforms: GGPoker Ontario and rest of world, WSOP Online and ClubGG.

The only places to offer online qualifiers to WSOP Paradise:

  1. GGPoker
  2. GGPoker Ontario
  3. ClubGG
  4. WSOP USA

In 2023, GGPoker successfully qualified 1,000 players for WSOP Paradise through online satellites, offering a range of packages including a $10,000 Main Event entry and 200 High Roller packages worth $35,000 each.

This year, the excitement continues with the Road to Paradise promotion, which is currently active on all four platforms. However, there’s a notable difference this time around.

As we know, WSOP is set to host a record-breaking $50 million guaranteed $26,000 buy-in tournament in the Bahamas — the largest single-event poker tournament guarantee ever. In anticipation, operators are running online qualifiers for this monumental event, known as the Paradise Super Main Event.

This Paradise Super Main Event package is worth $30,000 and includes an entry to this audacious tournament, plus $4000 for accommodation at Atlantis Resort.

GGPoker & GGPoker Ontario: Road to Paradise (Now Over)

On GGPoker, qualifiers started from as low as 60 cents and were available round the clock, with multiple events running daily. Players could also enter higher buy-in qualifiers priced at $1, $6, and $25, progressing through various stages. The $60 Road to Paradise Super Main Event qualifier is a key event, leading to a $600 Final Stage that awards at least 10 $30,000 packages.

Road to Paradise package winners received:

  • Entry to Super Paradise Main Event worth $26,000
  • Entry to $1M super saver invitational freeroll
  • 14 nights at the Cove or Reef Suites at Atlantis Resorts
  • A daily free lunch & dinner buffet
  • Players lounge snacks & rest
  • Special gift package and official WSOP Paradise merch

Important points to note:

  • The WSOP Paradise Packages did not cover travel expenses.
  • Players had to arrange their own travel and cover any additional expenses or incidentals.
  • WSOP Paradise Packages could not be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash.
  • Package winners who choose not to participate in the live event will forfeit the entire value of the package.

These qualifiers are also available on the GGPoker Ontario platform.

WSOP: Paradise Package Satellites (Now over)

For players in the US, WSOP is managing online qualifiers in Michigan, New Jersey, and Nevada. Every Sunday, WSOP hosts a $525 buy-in Paradise qualifier, guaranteeing at least one $30,000 package. This package mirrors the GGPoker offering, including a seat at the Main Event and hotel accommodations. Sub-qualifiers for the $525 event run on weekends with buy-ins starting at just $10.

ClubGG: Road to Paradise & Paradise Crew (Now Over)

GGPoker’s subscription-based online poker platform, ClubGG, offered players a chance to qualify for WSOP Paradise, with at least 200 seats guaranteed for the WSOP Mini Main Event. This event features a buy-in of $2,750 and boasts a massive $5 million guarantee.

192 seats will be won through Road to Paradise satellites running daily for ClubGG members.

Winners received entry to the event, along with complimentary lunch and dinner, and access to the players’ lounge. However, players will need to arrange their own accommodations, as the satellites only cover the seat entry.

A further eight seats will be given through a very simple promotion. Here’s how it works:

  • Share their unique referral link with friends.
  • When a friend signs up for ClubGG with a Standard or Platinum membership, they automatically qualify for an exclusive Paradise Crew Event tournament.
  • Refer more friends to increase their starting stack.

Halfway to the WSOP Paradise Main Event With PokerStake

PokerStake offered an interesting opportunity for 100 players looking to take a shot at the 2024 WSOP Paradise Main Event. For the 100 players who apply and get approved, the staking platform guaranteed to cover up to 50% of any unsold action.

To participate in this promotion, players had to send in their application to PokerStake no later than December 1, 2024. The platform will then review and approve 100 players, guaranteeing to buy up to 50% of any unsold action.

Selected players then needed to create the package for Day 1A on the platform and deposit their portion of the buy-in using the WSOP+ app. Once the package is created, you can go about promoting it and selling action.

On December 11, PokerStake then purchased any remaining unsold shares, up to the maximum of 50% of the full buy-in amount. For example, if you manage to cover 70% of the entire package ($26,000) between your share and other investors, PokerStake will cover the remaining 30% ($7,800).

This is a nice opportunity for more serious players who may have the skills but don’t necessarily have the bankroll to cover the full buy-in, and don’t have the reach to sell 70% or 80%. With this deal, those whose applications are approved need to only cover/sell 50%, knowing that the other half is taken care of.

How to Buy-In Directly to WSOP Paradise

Players who didn’t want to try to win their way to WSOP Paradise were able to buy-in directly via a variety of methods.

  1. Bank Wire, will be accepted via an application directly with the Atlantis hotel.
  2. You can make a direct deposit on WSOP+ app.
  3. In person at the cash desk with Atlantis chips at Atlantis, Paradise Island, Nassau, Bahamas.
  4. E-Wallet deposits are welcome via WSOP Paradise payment partner Luxon Pay.
  5. Online through the GGPoker lobby.
