The Maryland State Poker Championship, sponsored by PokerStars on FanDuel, wrapped up with some impressive numbers.
The 16-event series pulled in 3,032 entries and generated nearly 1.5 million dollars in prize money, overshooting guarantees by almost 40 percent.
The Main Event dropped its buy-in from 2,200 to 1,700 dollars this year. That change did the trick, attracting 380 entries and building a 570,000 dollar prize pool, beating the guarantee by 14 percent.
