888 has become the first operator to launch regulated online poker in Alberta.

The new platform went live on October 13, offering the only licensed poker option for the province under Alberta’s new rules.

With Alberta requiring a segregated player pool, most expected poker to be left out of the mix.

Even PokerStars decided to bow out, leaving 888 to take the lead.
