In a LinkedIn post published a couple of days ago, Heli Hecht, Global Video & Production Manager at 888holdings, announced that the 888poker YouTube channel, which is one of her key responsibilities at the company, has reached 500,000 subscribers.

This is a major milestone for the popular poker site, as the channel celebrated its 100,000 milestone in 2023. Today, about three and a half years later, the number of subscribers has grown fivefold, and it continues to climb every day.

According to Hecht, the channel has grown by more than 200,000 subscribers over the last two years, and this is an achievement she’s particularly proud of. Of course, this achievement is a group effort, and it is a clear indicator that the creative team at 888 produces the kind of content that the poker community at large is interested in.

From Entertainment to Educational Content

The 888poker channel offers something for every taste. Whether you’re looking for something to watch while sipping coffee, want a longer stream to keep you occupied for a few hours, or are looking to improve as a player, you’ll find plenty to match your expectations.

In a sea of interesting content, one project that really stands out is 888’s WSOP docuseries, a project that the operator has cherished for the last few years. After the World Series of Poker finishes, 888 puts out a mini-series following its ambassadors’ journey through the Main Event.

Although there is no lack of WSOP content out there, this series takes a different approach, as it focuses more on each player’s personal ambitions and emotions around the poker’s biggest tournament.

When it comes to educational content, the Made to Learn series brings a variety of useful tips in a short, easy-to-digest format, covering everything from cash games to tournaments to PLO. Plus, there are also regular shorts with quick tips, and the one from Vivi Saliba offering Pot Limit Omaha advice has been particularly popular.

Last but not least, there is your selection of interesting videos from various live and online events, featuring 888 ambassadors.

Live Streams All the Time

In addition to videos, the 888poker YouTube channel offers a variety of live streams, with something happening almost every single day.

There is popular Blast Off, which sees members of the team, like Aaron Barone, Lucia Navarro, Vivian Saliba, and Ian Simpson, going head to head playing BLAST. The format is equally as fun for the players as it is for the viewers, which is why it regularly attracts a fair number of eyeballs.

Then, there are regular live streams from 888 Live events, including the main tour and the UKPL. At the very least, the operator will stream the final table action of the main events, giving players a chance to become a star for a few hours, and all the fans worldwide an opportunity to experience the action as it goes down.

888 ambassadors are very active when it comes to playing and streaming, so there is live content available all the time, and a community that continues to grow stronger. All of these things together have helped the operator build a rather big YouTube channel for a poker niche.

Onward to a Million

888 has written a major chapter in its journey by reaching 500,000 YouTube subscribers, but this is not the end. With such a creative and dedicated team working on the channel and so much quality content going out on a regular basis, the number of poker fans joining the community will continue to grow.

Is one million subscribers something we’ll see in the (near) future? It is certainly possible, and 888 creators and ambassadors deserve to reach that goal for all the passion they pour not only into the game, but into building and growing the community.

It may take a little while to get there, but with poker being as popular as ever, there is no reason not to.
