Although the regulated US online poker landscape changed dramatically with the launch of PokerStars on FanDuel Poker on April 1, another operator quietly put together a milestone month of its own.

Rising online poker room BetRivers Poker delivered the strongest monthly performance in its history during April.

According to estimates from Poker Industry PRO, the operator generated approximately $737k in revenue across its four active US states in April, marking a new all-time high for the operator.

The result stands out even more considering the company is still relatively new in most of the jurisdictions where it operates and has yet to launch in one of the country’s most important online poker markets, New Jersey.

BetRivers only entered the regulated US online poker market around 18 months ago, making its Pennsylvania online poker debut on October 31, 2024. For roughly the first seven months, Pennsylvania remained the only active state. During that early period, the operator took a cautious approach, promotions were limited, marketing activity was modest, and it did not run a single tournament series.

The trajectory changed significantly once the operator expanded into additional states and rolled out shared liquidity in June 2025. That move made BetRivers Poker only the second operator after WSOP Online to connect player pools across four US states. Two of those jurisdictions — Delaware and West Virginia — are admittedly small markets, though BetRivers Poker holds a monopoly position in both.

Since expanding its footprint, the operator has maintained an aggressive pace. At nearly all times, there have been at least two or three active promotions running simultaneously across different game formats, while the company has also hosted several tournament series over the past year. Still, the operator trails the market leaders by a considerable margin, though the gap has gradually started to narrow.

Breaking Down BetRivers Poker’s Record April

Estimating BetRivers Poker’s exact performance is somewhat challenging because of how online poker revenue is reported across different US jurisdictions. Michigan and West Virginia do not separately disclose online poker revenue figures and it has also yet to launch in New Jersey, the one major market where regulators break down revenue by individual skin rather than license holder.

However, detailed figures from Delaware, combined with reasonably reliable estimates from Pennsylvania — where BetRivers Poker shares a license with Borgata Poker — help provide a fairly accurate picture of the operator’s overall trajectory.

Pennsylvania, where the operator has now been active for more than 18 months, produced an estimated $260K in revenue during April, up more than double year-over-year. The bigger jump, however, came from Michigan online poker, where BetRivers Poker generated an estimated $315k — another record-setting figure for the site.

Although year-over-year comparisons are unavailable for Michigan, the state’s revenue was up approximately 42% from March. In fact, April marked only the second time that the operator’s Michigan revenue surpassed Pennsylvania. The previous occurrence came in July 2025, when the operator generated an estimated $244k in Michigan during that month.

In West Virginia and Delaware — where BetRivers Poker effectively owns the market — the operator generated an estimated $101,000 and nearly $61,000 in online poker revenue, respectively.

That totals approximately $737K in April, which means that BetRivers Poker accounts for roughly 8% of the total regulated US online poker market. That figure remains relatively small compared to the market leaders, but the operator is still in the early stages of expansion, having not yet completed a full year of operations in Michigan, Delaware, or West Virginia.

What exactly drove the April surge for BetRivers Poker is difficult to pinpoint. The operator did not introduce any major new promotional campaign beyond its usual ongoing offers across cash games, tournaments, and sit and gos. Nor did it host a tournament festival during the month.

More Growth Projected as New Jersey Launch Still Awaits

Ironically, BetRivers Poker actually scheduled a series in May: the Summer Warm-Up festival, which awarded more than $524k in prize money across 68 events and attracted over 11,000 total entries. On paper, May would appear more likely than April to produce a breakout revenue month.

April also coincided with the highly anticipated US relaunch of PokerStars under the FanDuel Poker branding and new platform. If anything, that development was expected to create stronger competitive pressure for BetRivers Poker. Instead, the operator still managed to post record results, suggesting its player base and overall ecosystem continue to expand even as the competitive environment evolves.

The company also still has an important piece missing from its network: New Jersey. On a per-capita basis, New Jersey online poker remains the most attractive market in the country. Roughly 28 cents in revenue per resident is generated each month from online poker in New Jersey, compared to around 20 cents in Pennsylvania and only about 6 cents in Delaware.

That creates a major opportunity for the site to eventually establish the first five-state shared liquidity network in US online poker. If BetRivers Poker can secure a market share in New Jersey comparable to what it has already achieved in Pennsylvania, monthly revenue could comfortably move beyond the $1 million mark.

It remains unclear when the operator will launch in New Jersey, after previously being expected to go live in the Garden State by the end of 2025.
