Whenever an online poker operator launches a tournament series, the spotlight tends to fall on higher buy-in events designed for players with larger bankrolls. While most schedules include a handful of tournaments aimed at micro-stakes and recreational players, those offerings are often limited in number and secondary to the headline events.

BetRivers Poker is taking a different approach with its latest festival. Rather than building a schedule around mid- and high-stakes players, the operator has unveiled an entire series dedicated to the lower end of the buy-in spectrum.

Dubbed Micro Mania, the festival begins this Sunday and runs for eight days, concluding the following Sunday. The series is available across Pennsylvania, Michigan, Delaware, and West Virginia, the four states where BetRivers Poker currently operates. Notably, BetRivers remains the only regulated US online poker operator serving players in both Delaware and West Virginia.

As expected from a micro-stakes festival, the guarantees are relatively modest, with more than $32,000 spread across 30 tournaments. What separates the series from many similar offerings, however, is the inclusion of added prize money in every single event.

In practical terms, every tournament starts with extra money already injected into the prize pool by the operator, regardless of whether the listed guarantee is met. Across the schedule, BetRivers is contributing a total of $10,000 in added prizes. The operator has used this concept regularly in standalone tournaments and smaller promotions, but Micro Mania marks one of the most extensive uses of added prize money across an entire festival.

Keeping with the theme, buy-ins are intentionally affordable, ranging from just $1 to $20. Most events fall within the $2 to $10 range, ensuring the schedule remains accessible to casual players and those playing with smaller bankrolls.

In addition to competing for cash prizes, players will also have the opportunity to win a custom BetRivers-branded collectible. Each day of the series features one designated event where the winner receives a customized Flip Flop Frank water bottle. These special tournaments are clearly identified on the website, and the tournament lobby also highlights the associated prize.

The festival also includes leaderboard rewards. A total of $1,670 in tournament tickets will be distributed among the top 60 finishers on the series leaderboard. The overall winner receives $200 in tournament tickets, while second place earns $150 and third place collects $100. Prizes gradually scale down through the standings, with even the player finishing in 60th place receiving a $10 tournament ticket.

Players must finish in the money to earn meaningful leaderboard points, with deeper runs generating higher scores. Non-cash finishes are still worth three points. At the end of the series, only each player’s five highest-scoring results will count toward their final leaderboard total.

The schedule itself offers a healthy mix of formats. Players will find progressive knockout (PKOs) tournaments, turbo structures, deep-stack events, six-handed games, and even multiple Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) tournaments.

Action gets underway on opening Sunday with a pair of $10 buy-in tournaments, one standard event and one PKO, alongside a $5 Sunday Solstice tournament celebrating the summer solstice, the astronomical event that marks the official beginning of summer. The opening day concludes with a $2 buy-in six-max tournament.

The schedule becomes lighter on Monday, featuring just three tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $2 to $10. Tuesday expands to four events, while Wednesday and Thursday return to three-tournament slates. Activity then ramps up again heading into the weekend. Importantly, every tournament throughout the series benefits from added prize money.

The centerpiece of the festival is the $10 Micro Mania Main Event. Carrying a listed guarantee of $4,000, it is the largest tournament on the schedule. The event also includes $1,200 in added prize money, effectively boosting its prize pool to $5,200.

Micro Mania is the sixth tournament series hosted by BetRivers Poker and its third festival of the year. The operator’s most recent series, Summer Warm-Up, took place in May and ultimately awarded $524,000 across 68 tournaments. That festival attracted more than 11,000 total entries.

Soccer World Cup Promotions Underway

While many operators tend to recycle the same promotions throughout the year, BetRivers has shown a willingness to experiment with different campaign concepts tied to major sporting events.

With the Soccer World Cup currently underway, the world’s most-watched sporting competition and one being hosted in North America this year, a number of poker operators have introduced football-themed promotions. BetRivers Poker is no exception, and the campaign marks the operator’s first significant promotion linked to a major global sporting event.

Its World Soccer Tournament Predictor promotion allows players to forecast match winners by registering for a dedicated freeroll associated with their selected team. To qualify, participants must either play at least one cash game hand or enter a tournament costing $1 or more on the day before the featured match.

If the chosen team wins, the corresponding freeroll is held the following day. All freerolls leading up to the Grand Final use a forced all-in format, while the Grand Final itself features a $5,000 freeroll. Entry into the finale is reserved for players who successfully complete at least five predictions during the promotion period.

Overall, the operator will distribute more than $20,000 in cash prizes through the campaign. A separate leaderboard promotion adds another $2,500 in prizes, with players earning one leaderboard point for every correct prediction they make.

The promotion launched on June 11 and is scheduled to run through July 19.
