We finally have an official confirmation that the 2026 WPT World Championship will be returning to Las Vegas this year, featuring an almost month-long schedule filled with action.
Although it was always likely to happen, there were some doubts, as December is jam-packed with poker festivals, so there was a possibility that the WPT would perhaps move its festival to a different time slot.
Any doubts that may have existed were completely removed yesterday as the World Poker Tour sent out a press release, confirming that the 2026 WPT World Championship Festival will be coming back to the Wynn, running Nov 27 — Dec 21 and bringing a rich and colorful winter schedule.
Organizers plan to kick things off in style, with a special Meet Up Game planned for Dec 1. The game is going to feature $1/$3 and $2/$5 stakes, making it accessible to all players, and some big names. There will also be special giveaways throughout the day.

Cool Million Added to the World Championship Event
We now have the full schedule for the 2026 WPT World Championship Festival as well as some key details about the marquee events. At a glance, the Festival will bring something for everyone, featuring a wide span of buy-ins and an excellent mix of game formats and variations.
The World Championship itself will once again feature a buy-in of $10,400, and there is no official guarantee put on the event. However, this year, the tournament will play out in the mystery bounty format, with $1,000,000 in cash added to the bounty prize pool by ClubWPT Gold. That’s quite a bit of extra value, which should help incentivize players to get involved.
There will be three starting flights available, and players will be allowed to enter once per flight, with the final opportunity to join the tournament just before the Day 2 action begins.
The WPT Prime Championship is coming back, too, featuring the usual $1,100 buy-in and a $5,000,000 guarantee. The tournament takes place Dec 5 — 14, and it will offer four starting flights. If last year is any indicator, the $5,000,000 guarantee will be easily surpassed, as the 2025 tournament nearly doubled the original promise.
Fans from all over the world will be able to tune in for the action as the WPT will be hosting live streams every day, starting with Dec 6. The Championship final table will also be filmed and televised at a later date.

New Super Gold Million Added to the Mix
One new tournament that will find its place on the 2026 WPT World Championship festival schedule is $400 Super Gold Million. Running Dec 10 — 14, the tournament is powered by ClubWPT Gold, and it boasts a big guarantee of $3,000,000.
This tournament will also feature the mystery bounty format, giving players a chance to draw big prizes long before they make it to the final table.
Beyond this, the Festival brings an impressive range of events, both in terms of buy-ins and game variations. In addition to NLHE and PLO, there will be plenty of options for mixed games enthusiasts, including several Mixed Triple Draw tournaments.
There are also a number of No Limit Hold’em events featuring affordable buy-ins and seven-figure guarantees.
This will be the fifth time that the WPT World Championship is coming back to the Wynn, continuing a successful partnership between the two companies.
