WPT Global’s traffic data now includes cash game activity after Sharkscope Analytics recently began tracking the site’s cash games. Previously, the data only covered MTT entries, giving us a less complete picture of the site’s overall traffic.
With both cash game and tournament figures now available, WPT Global’s PRO Score has risen from around 1,500 to approximately 2,000. The score has since settled at about 1,870 in the latest rankings, although the site reached an all-time high of 2,082 at the end of August based on its 30-day moving average.
That was enough for WPT Global to overtake CoinPoker and move into fourth place in the Poker Industry PRO online poker room rankings.

Earlier this year, Poker Industry PRO, our news and data platform covering the online poker industry, launched PRO DB in collaboration with Sharkscope Analytics. The largest update to the site in 12 years, the new platform gives subscribers access to traffic reports covering both cash games and tournaments across all tracked networks, with the data automatically updated each day.
One of the new database’s key features is the PRO Score, a blended traffic metric that combines cash game and tournament figures into a single number for ranking online poker sites. Where cash game data is unavailable for a network, MTT entries are used to scale the PRO Score so that different networks can still be compared directly.
Until recently, WPT Global was only represented through its MTT entries in PRO DB, with cash game activity not included in its score. The addition of that data provides a more complete picture of the site’s traffic and has had a notable impact on its position in the rankings.
GGPoker remains comfortably ahead of the field with a PRO Score of 12,450. French online poker giant Winamax is second with a score of 5,040, while PokerStars sits in third with nearly 3,200. WPT Global is now fourth at 1,870, followed by CoinPoker at just over 1,800 and iPoker in sixth at 1,458.
WPT Global’s rise after its cash game figures were added also highlights the importance of those games to its overall traffic mix. The site’s cash game numbers of 1,833 put it considerably closer to PokerStars than its tournament figures would suggest.
PokerStars currently has a cash game number of 2,274, around 24% higher than WPT Global. The difference is considerably larger when looking at tournament traffic. PokerStars averages 178,903 MTT entries, around 144% more than WPT Global’s 73,325.

Asia Remains Key to WPT Global
The numbers show that WPT Global has a relatively stronger cash game component compared with some of its larger competitors. That becomes particularly relevant when looking at the markets that have contributed to the site’s traffic.
WPT Global is also significantly larger by traffic than operators such as PartyPoker and 888poker. While the site has made efforts to expand into markets including Europe and the Canada online poker market, a substantial portion of its traffic comes through network partners operating in Asia.
That Asian presence is also reflected in the way WPT Global runs its online poker offering. Many of its games, guarantees and buy-ins are denominated in Chinese yuan, while several of its tournament brands and schedules are designed around the time zones and preferences of Asian players.
The operator has also launched dedicated tournament series for the region, including WPT Asia. Its latest edition, WPT Asia Overdrive, ran in August with ¥200,000,000 in guaranteed prizes, equivalent to more than $20 million.
The scale of those numbers underlines just how large WPT Global has become in the international online poker market. However, its growth has plateaued over the past couple of years, while PokerStars has moved ahead of it in the rankings.
That does not change the fact that WPT Global remains one of the largest online poker rooms in the world. The latest traffic figures, now including its cash game activity, provide a clearer indication of just how substantial its player base remains.
