WSOP PA Welcome Bonuses

Welcome Bonus
4.6
Competitive

WSOP Pennsylvania offers a very generous welcome package for all newcomers. The deal is pretty much identical to what’s available to players in Nevada on WSOP NV and in New Jersey on WSOP NJ.

If you want to give this poker room a try and see what it has to offer firsthand, the bonus offers make it a very rewarding experience.

Up to $100 in Free Play Bonus Funds

All new WSOP PA players are eligible to receive up to $100 in free play funds when joining the site. Claim this offer by signing up and making your first deposit.

You will receive between $25 and $100 in bonus funds, depending on the deposit sum. You can claim $25, $50, $75, or $100 for depositing $10+, $251+, $501+, and $1000+, respectively.

WSOP PA Deposit Bonus — Get up to $1000 in Bonus Funds

In addition to the free offer, WSOP PA also features a 100% first deposit match bonus up to a maximum of $1000 for everyone joining the site and making their first deposit (no bonus code is required).

The bonus will be applied to your very first deposit made with the operator, and it is independent of the free money offer, so you can get both.

Unlike the free bonus, though, this one is not available immediately. Instead, the deposit match bonus funds are released as you play and generate APPs. For every 50 APPs a player earns, $5 will be released from the bonus funds into their WSOP PA real money account. Once released, this money has no further wagering requirements attached to it.

Players have a 90-day window to clear the entire WSOP PA deposit bonus. If there are any bonus funds remaining after this period expires, they will be removed. However, any money released up to that point will remain unaffected.

Exclusive New Player Freerolls

The fourth and final piece of the WSOP PA Welcome Bonus is the seven freeroll tickets awarded to all new players upon making their first real money deposit. These freerolls take place every day, and each tournament has a prize pool of $100.

Freeroll tickets combined with the free $50 make WSOP PA an excellent choice for those with smaller bankrolls looking to kick-start their online poker journey without too much risk. Additionally, the freerolls are only open to new players, so newcomers will not have to deal with experienced sharks looking to take their money.

Bonus Comparison: PokerStars vs WSOP vs BetMGM Poker PA

The WSOP PA welcome offer certainly measures up quite well against the competitors. Those looking for a big deposit bonus will find that the $1000 maximum is on par with BetMGM Poker PA and Borgata Poker PA, while the maximum match bonus at PokerStars PA is $600.

Players also get up to $100 in extra funds when making their first deposit (depending on the size of the deposit), which is a nice additional boost. This is similar to what PokerStars PA has to offer, but players on PokerStars only need to play one real-money hand to claim the full amount.

Finally, seven tickets to $100 freerolls are a nice addition for those with smaller bankrolls and those just taking up online poker, giving them a chance to win some extra cash and also get their feet wet playing against other new players.

As a whole, the four-part bonus offer at WSOP PA provides some of the best value in the state and is an excellent way to boost your bankroll right out of the gate, which will certainly come in handy for the busy WSOP tournament schedule.

Whether you’re a seasoned tournament grinder or just starting out, this deal is a great fit for players of all levels.

WSOP PA Promos

Promotions
4.3
Very engaging

Promotions play an important role in choosing an online room to play with and, as an experienced operator in the poker industry, WSOP PA is well aware of this. Hence, players are treated to a variety of promos to keep them entertained and offer them better value for their money.

There are several leaderboards running around the clock, suitable for different types of players, such as:

  • MTT leaderboards
  • BLAST leaderboards
  • SNG Leaderboards

These make sure that players of different preferences can find their niche and still enjoy additional rewards for their efforts. Competitions are geared more towards tournament players, but that comes as no surprise, given that tournament poker made the World Series what it is today.

Players can also take advantage of different occasional bonuses and special promos that come up from time to time. Usually, you will need to opt-in and use a special promo code to take advantage of these.

Reload bonuses are especially valuable and represent a great deal for grinders as they provide a nice bankroll boost that effectively increases their hourly rate without having to give up on any edge.

WSOP Rewards

Rewards
4.2
Industry Standard

WSOP PA features a multi-tier loyalty rewards program offered in New Jersey, Michigan, and Nevada as well. It is a pretty straightforward system, but a rewarding one at that, as players can accumulate points and later on exchange those points for money.

The way it works is that players accumulate points by playing in real money cash games and tournaments and paying rake. The real money play generates Action Player Points (APPs) at the rate of 2 APPs for every $1 paid in rake or tournament fees.

As soon as a player accumulates 200 APPs, they will unlock the Bronze tier, and their accumulated APPs will be converted to WSOP Points, with a 4x multiplier. These WSOP Points can be used in the WSOP PA store to redeem real cash rewards.

By accumulating 750 points in a month, players will unlock the Silver status, which has a multiplier of 10. The Gold status, which is unlocked by reaching 1500 APPs comes with a 12x multiplier.

Finally, those who manage to accumulate 20,000 APPs in a one-year period will enter the Champions Club, where they will enjoy the highest possible points multiplier of 16x, meaning that for every 1 APP they will receive 16 WSOP Points to spend in the store.

As you accumulate APPs, you will advance through the various VIP levels, which in turn allow you to get more cash for the points you have.

VIP Levels and the APP Requirements

  1. Player: Every new player enters the VIP Club at this level.
  2. Bronze: Reach the Bronze level by accumulating 200 APPs in one month.
  3. Silver: Reach the Silver level by accumulating 750 APPs in one month.
  4. Elite: Reach the Elite level by accumulating 1500 APPs in one month.
  5. Champions Club: Reach the Champions Club by accumulating 20,000 APPs in one year.

WSOP Tournaments

Tournaments
4.6
Quality schedule

Tournaments are certainly the bread and butter of WSOP, and, as such, they deserve some special attention in this review. Players will find a rich schedule of daily and weekly events adjusted for every bankroll. With buy-ins starting as low as $1 and going all the way up to $215 for the popular $75k GTD Big Sunday event, there is plenty of MTT action to enjoy.

WSOP Pennsylvania offers No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha tournaments for the time being, so those looking for less popular variations are currently out of luck. That said, the operator might throw new game formats into the mix if there is enough demand, and especially if there are some movements on the interstate poker front.

As far as more “exotic” tournament options are concerned, WSOP PA does feature the hugely popular Progressive Knockout (PKO) format. These are MTTs where eliminating players earns you half of their bounty, while the other half is added to your bounty. As the event gets deeper and more players are eliminated, this creates some very interesting dynamics.

Finally, the operator also provides opportunities for the players to compete for prestigious WSOP bracelets playing from the comfort of their homes. Pennsylvania players can count with several bracelet-awarding online events every year, which adds a lot of appeal to WSOP PA.

Sit & Gos

WSOP Pennsylvania offers a good selection of No-Limit Hold’em sit and go (SNG) tournaments across the board. Of course, these games, especially at higher buy-ins, can be somewhat difficult if you want to play them exclusively. Often, they will not fill up fast enough, especially during off-peak hours.

Prize pool distributions and blind levels are fairly standard and no different from what you will find with other operators in Pennsylvania or elsewhere in the US. It is a fairly standard offering, but the sit and go leaderboards do make this format somewhat more appealing.

BLAST

WSOP PA also features the operator’s trademark BLAST sit and gos. These are jackpot tournaments where three players fight for a prize pool that is randomly determined at the start of the sit and go. The prize pool can be anywhere from 2x the buy-in all the way up to 10,000x the buy-in.

WSOP PA real money poker players can choose from four different BLAST levels, so again, the room offers action for every budget size. Signing up for one of these is very easy as there is a separate BLAST lobby featured in the client, and players can register for up to four games on the same level simultaneously.

Buy-In Top Prize
$0.10 $1000
$1 $10,000
$5 $50,000
$20 $200,000
$30 $300,000

Cash Games at WSOP PA

Cash
4.2
Solid

While the selection of cash games at WSOP PA is nothing that will leave players speechless, the operator offers more than enough variety to keep most players happy. At the moment, available games are No-Limit Hold’em and Pot-Limit Omaha, and all action is 6-handed.

The spread of stakes is quite decent, with NL2 being the lowest one, while NL5000 is currently the highest stake level. There are several levels in between, so it is easy enough to find something that fits your bankroll.

Game Stake Min. Buy-In
No Limit Hold’em $0.01/0.02 $1
No Limit Hold’em $0.05/0.10 $4
No Limit Hold’em $0.25/0.50 $20
No Limit Hold’em $1/2 $80
No Limit Hold’em $2/5 $200
No Limit Hold’em $25/50 $500
Pot Limit Omaha $0.05/0.10 $4
Pot Limit Omaha $0.25/0.50 $20
Pot Limit Omaha $1/2 $80

Fastforward games are not offered, which does not come as a surprise. This particular format, as well as other similar ones provided by competitors, has not had much success in the US. The main reason resides with the fact that the traffic is simply insufficient to make fastforward viable.

This is one of those things that might change when rooms are finally able to combine their player pools across state lines to ramp up their traffic and have more active players around the clock.

WSOP Software

Software
4.8
Modern & Clean

As mentioned earlier, Pennsylvania was the first US state with the new Poker 8 software. Developed in cooperation with 888poker, its strategic partner in the United States, Poker 8 represents the next level of poker software that answers the needs and expectations of modern players.

The moment you access the lobby, it is clear that the new software is a massive improvement compared to the old software used by the WSOP. The new software was announced for Pennsylvania several months earlier, and the operators have delivered on this promise.

Reliability

The Poker 8 software powering WSOP Pennsylvania is new to the market, so it still remains to be seen how it will perform under pressure. First impressions are certainly promising as the platform seems very stable and reliable without any inexplicable disconnects or glitches to annoy players.

Utilizing the power of modern technologies and communicating with powerful WSOP servers, the WSOP PA platform is one you can definitely trust to do the job. The WSOP PA download only takes a few seconds, and all the action is smooth and uninterrupted.

Functionality

WSOP.com has definitely upped the antes with the new software. The platform is very user-friendly and easy to navigate, with a variety of handy options to boost the gaming experience. These features will be appreciated by serious grinders and those new to online poker alike.

Different games are distributed into appropriate categories, which can be accessed from the menu on the left-hand side. Within each category, there is a variety of quick filters for stakes, number of players per table, and game variation (Hold’em and PLO). Tournament players get to use even more filters to really narrow down their search and find particular games that match their criteria.

But, one of the main ideas behind the Poker 8 software was to improve the gaming experience for the mobile player base as well, and WSOP PA has done a great job of it. You can download the new WSOP PA app for Android and iOS; it is just as advanced as the desktop client.

Players can easily find their way around the WSOP PA app and access cash games, tournaments, and everything else offered. There is even a nice selection of avatars for those wanting to make their online poker experience more personal.

Design

When it comes to design, the WSOP PA desktop and mobile clients have really taken things to a new level. The software features a modern, almost futuristic look with nice mouse-over effects inside individual game lobbies.

It often happens that players are underwhelmed with new poker software solutions, but this is not the case with WSOP PA. Designers have done a great job of creating a smooth, visually appealing user interface that shows what a modern online poker platform should look like.

WSOP PA Mobile App

As mentioned earlier in this WSOP Pa review, the room offers a state-of-the-art software solution for the players in the state, and this extends to the mobile app. Featuring a fresh design, a very user-friendly interface, and a variety of filtering and customization options, the app gives players everything they need to fully enjoy their sessions on the go.

The mobile app is readily available for download in Android and iOS stores. To get it onto your device, simply visit the store, download the app, and proceed to install it like any other non-gambling app. Once installed, you can log in with your existing WSOP PA account or create one if you are a new player.

You can play up to four tables at the same time using the app and the software will help ensure you can easily switch between the tables and alert you when it is your time to act. Like most modern mobile poker solutions, the WSOP PA app features the portrait layout, which seems to be the preference of most players out there.

WSOP PA: Overview

The World Series of Poker went live in Pennsylvania under the WSOP PA brand on July 12, 2021. The launch was an important moment for WSOP US and indicates the operator has serious plans for future growth and expansion.

The World Series of Poker is a strong brand with an impeccable reputation in the global poker community. In Pennsylvania, the room has to battle for players with PokerStars PA, the first regulated poker room to launch in the state, as well as BetMGM PA and Borgata Poker PA, two rooms hosted on the partypoker US Network.

As of right now, Pennsylvania is not a part of an interstate gaming compact, so WSOP still cannot bring all of its player pools together. But, with the most recent developments in the Wire Act saga and with Michigan joining the Multi-State Internet Gaming Agreement (MSIGA) in 2022, we will likely see a number of interstate online poker continue to grow. Pennsylvania has already discussed the possibility of shared liquidity and there is no reason to think PA won’t be one of the next states looking to join forces with other regulated states.

WSOP in Pennsylvania and the US — Shared Liquidity

WSOP.com in Pennsylvania does not share liquidity with WSOP.com in other states, meaning players on the site in Pennsylvania will only be able to play against other players in the state and not against players in other states, such as New Jersey or Nevada.

Although the company launched WSOP MI in Michigan in late March 2022, powered by the same Poker 8 software, The state of Pennsylvania does not currently allow online poker operators to connect player pools to those outside of PA.

The most straightforward way to do so would be for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) to join the Multi-State iGaming Agreement (MSIGA).

With the DOJ passing on the opportunity to appeal the First Circuit Court decision on the Wire Act interpretation and Michigan joining MSIGA, the situation is more favorable than ever for Pennsylvania to allow its online poker operators to offer their players the chance to compete for bigger prize pools and have access to more games by sharing liquidity with other states that offer legal regualed online poker.

For WSOP PA, this would be a great opportunity, allowing them to connect with the existing WSOP player pools in New Jersey, Nevada, Delaware, and now, Michigan, creating a very strong interstate real money poker network with a massive player pool.

There are still certain hurdles along the way, though, and it is a bit unclear what assurances Pennsylvania regulators will require before entering such compacts. The situation on that front should become much clearer in the coming months, as Michigan launches shared liquidity and we see which states might be next to follow.

Banking at WSOP PA

Banking
4.5
Solid options

When it comes to funding your WSOP PA accounts, you have a decent range of options to choose from. The operator does not charge any fees on transactions, but your bank or payment processor still might, so that is something to pay attention to.

As a regulated industry-leading site you can also feel confident that WSOP only uses the most secure top-of-the-line banking software, so you never have to worry about your personal or financial information being compromised or sold to third-parties.

Banking Method Deposits Withdrawals
ACH Yes Yes
PayPal Yes Yes
Cash at Cage Yes Yes
Play+ Yes Yes
Credit and Debit Cards Yes No
PayNearMe Yes No

In addition to standard payment options, WSOP PA also makes it possible for the players to make their transfers in person at Harrah’s Philadelphia, the operator’s land-based partner in Philly.

All in all, moving money to and from your WSOP PA account is an easy and fairly straightforward process. That said, all players will need to undergo mandatory identity checks to ensure the maximum level of protection and comply with state gaming regulations.

WSOP PA Safety & Fairness

When playing online poker for real money, players are often concerned about the safety of their funds and the personal information they have to share with operators. These are all legitimate concerns but also the ones that you do not need to focus on when playing on a regulated site like WSOP PA.

In order to obtain and keep the license issued by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, WSOP PA must adhere to very high standards in terms of fairness and player safety. This means that all of their games, for example, are regularly checked for fairness and randomness. The underlying RNG software is independently verified and it must satisfy the regulator’s requirements.

When it comes to player protection, WSOP PA utilizes high-level encryption protocols across its platform, making it virtually impossible for anyone to access the sensitive data stored on their servers. Financial transactions are handled very seriously and players’ funds are treated with respect.

It is worth noting that the operator also uses geolocation plugins for all real money play on the site. Their function is to ensure all players are physically located in Pennsylvania when accessing and joining the games. So, even if you have an account with WSOP PA, you can only use it to play on the site while within the state borders.

FAQ

When did WSOP go live in Pennsylvania?

WSOP PA went live in Pennsylvania on July 12, 2021. The company had previously announced plans to launch in the Keystone State during the summer and it stuck to its plans.

Yes, WSOP Pennsylvania is a completely legal and regulated online poker site, licensed by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB). Those who decide to join and play here can rest assured they are doing so in a completely safe, secure, and fair gaming environment.

Can I win gold bracelets and gold rings at WSOP PA?

Certainly! Pennsylvania players can compete for exciting prizes on WSOP PA, including that iconic jewelry. This online poker platform offers major tournaments throughout the year, including WSOP Bracelet Series and WSOP Circuit Online Gold Ring Series. While the buy-ins for these tournaments can sometimes cost hundreds of dollars, satellite events offer players the chance to qualify for a bracelet at a lower cost, with some buy-ins as low as $5.

Do I have to be physically present in Pennsylvania to play on WSOP PA?

Yes, all players who want to play for real money have to be physically located within the PA borders. You can still register and log in from other states, but you will only be able to access the tables and play if you are in Pennsylvania.

Where is WSOP legal?

Does WSOP PA share its liquidity?

No, at least not at this moment in time. Although WSOP is live in Michigan, New Jersey, Delaware, and Nevada, Pennsylvania has yet to join MSIGA, the multistate online poker compact that allows operators to pool players between participating states. Thus, players from PA can only play against each other, and the player pool is not combined with that of any other state.

However, industry experts predict that Pennsylvania will be the next state to join MSIGA, so, if and when that happens, WSOP will likely want to link up its PA room with its existing network.

Do I need to create a new account if I have already signed up with WSOP MI, WSOP NJ, or WSOP NV?

Yes, you do. Even if you already have an account with WSOP.com in Michigan, New Jersey, or Nevada, you will still need to create a new account for the PA client. This account will be completely separate from your existing ones, with its own cashier.

Can I transfer funds between my WSOP PA and WSOP MI/NJ/NV accounts?

No, you cannot. Your WSOP PA account is currently completely separate from any other WSOP accounts you may have, so it is not possible to move money between them.

Does WSOP PA offer BLAST tournaments?

Yes, WSOP PA offers the popular BLAST format, allowing players to compete for jackpots potentially going as high as 10,000 times the buy-in. There are several different buy-in levels, so all players can find something for themselves.

Is the WSOP PA software good?

Yes. There is a WSOP app available for both iOS and Android devices. Just like the desktop software, its mobile apps are of the highest quality, featuring a superior design as well as a very user-friendly interface. Who is WSOP PA’s land-based partner?

Fall Online Championship in October

WSOP PA Fall Online Championship Online Poker Tournament SeriesIn October 2021, WSOP PA came up with yet another online series, trying to further establish its market position and improve its player traffic.

This time around, it was the Fall Online Championship, offering over $1,000,000 in guaranteed prizes across 67 tournaments, as well as an official WSOP Championship Belt. However, this series was not as successful as the previous ones, as the operator failed to meet the total guarantee by almost a quarter of a million. One event even had to be canceled altogether.

Even the Main Event, which featured the guarantee of $150,000 fell short, with only 347 entries, which meant the room had to cover the difference of over $45,000.

WSOP PA Online Circuit Gold Rings Online Poker Tournament SeriesFollowing the successful online World Series of Poker for Pennsylvania players, the operator also launched the Circuit Series in September. Unlike bracelet events, though, these tournaments did not garner as much interest from the players, leading to some significant overlays in several events. However, while they don’t offer the famous bracelets, the WSOP Online Circuit series does offer some snazzy jewelry of their own in the form of WSOP Gold Rings.

Most tournaments featured fairly steep buy-ins, which probably caused player numbers to be smaller than expected. At the same time, those who did participate got to enjoy decent added value from overlays.

First-ever WSOP Online in PA

WSOP PA Online Circuit Gold Bracelets Online Poker Tournament SeriesWSOP wasted no time creating some interesting opportunities for Pennsylvania players. On August 8, 2021, the very-first WSOP Online Series went live in the state, offering eight opportunities to win golden bracelets.

This was a unique opportunity for PA online poker players to claim a piece of coveted bling in relatively small fields. By the time the next World Series of Poker comes around, it is quite possible the operator will have merged player pools from other states, creating much bigger fields and making it much harder to win a bracelet-awarding event.
