Let that sink in for a moment.

The global dot-com network, spanning dozens of countries, isn’t hitting the $500K mark this weekend. Yet a ring-fenced US platform with a much smaller player pool is pushing past it—twice.

To be fair, context matters. This appears to be a one-off push on the US side. And historically, the dot-com network has set the bar much higher, regularly running $1 million guaranteed Sunday Millions.

In fact, on April 19, PokerStars will bring back a $500,000 guaranteed tournament on the dot-com network. So it’s not a question of capability, it’s more about timing and occasion.

The Lodge Card Club in Texas just got a break: no criminal charges filed as the 30-day deadline hit, according to PokerNews. Still, the state is hanging onto more than $2 million seized in the March raid.

PokerNews says the court document now focuses solely on alleged illegal gambling, dropping the money laundering angle altogether.

The future of the club remains uncertain. Texas law is murky about poker rooms like The Lodge, with some arguing the law allows clubs that don’t collect rake, while others remain skeptical. The standard for conviction is high, as PokerNews points out, and many similar clubs keep operating without trouble.

As the WSOP Europe Main Event hits Day 5, the field is thinning faster than a stack after a bad beat.

We finally have the numbers for the WSOP Europe as late registration on Day 2 has officially closed. Across three starting flights and additional entries on Day 2, the €5,300 Main Event attracted a staggering 2,617 entries—surpassing its €10 million guarantee by a huge margin and adding another €3 million to the prize pool. Even more remarkably, this year’s prize pool is more than double that of last year’s edition.
