Norman Chad and Lon McEachern have been calling the action for more than two decades, and not even they expected to become the voices of poker.
In this recent interview with PokerOrg, they talk about the turning point in 2003, when Chris Moneymaker’s win brought poker into the mainstream. Now, with ESPN bringing back WSOP coverage, they’re ready for another round.
They admit that the poker world has changed—celebrity players, social media challenges, and a different relationship with the audience. As Chad puts it, “We never thought we’d still be here after all these years, but poker keeps reinventing itself.”
The duo is optimistic about where poker broadcasting is headed, even if the biggest obstacle these days is keeping up with X.
