- Blog post – explaining the how, why and what of pokerfuse PRO.
Last week, we quietly launched pokerfuse PRO, our new subscription web app. In this blog post, we aim to give an overview of how PRO came about, what it means for pokerfuse.com, and why you should care.
If you haven’t yet seen PRO, you can learn more on our About page and view a list of features along with pricing and payment details. There’s also an excellent and very thorough review of PRO over on PokerNewsBoy, written by industry veteran Steve Ruddock.
So how did PRO come about, what exactly is it, and—most importantly—why should you care?

Why Create Pokerfuse PRO?
... for everyone who wants to support independent online poker news—your subscription will ensure that we can maintain the high level of quality that you’ve come to expect.
Pokerfuse has been around now for two years, built on the simple premise that we’d bring independent coverage of online poker for players and the industry. In this time we’ve published over 1500 news articles and features, and we’ve been lucky to build an amazing team of writers that’s allowed us to offer unprecedented coverage whilst maintaining our independence. Over 50,000 of you now visit every month to keep up to date with online poker developments, and for that we’re as thrilled as we are humbled.
Our goal has always been to bring together everything we know and learn in this unique niche into one place—be it news, ideas, thoughts, data. As much as we are dedicated to bringing this free to the poker community—and that’s not going away—we realized soon after launching that, if we were to achieve what we’d set out to do, a free model alone would not be sufficient.
So PRO was born. Planning began way back in late 2011, just six months after we launched. Our goal was not only to offer extended coverage, but also to bring together data and tools all into one place.
Then just comes eighteen months of iterating on the idea, developing a new web platform from scratch, building the industry directory, aggregating hundreds of news sources and putting it all together—our homepage for the poker industry!
Who Can Benefit from PRO
As a new web app platform, PRO brings together our content—expanded and extended with news articles, exclusive features every weekday, and early access to all of our content—with industry data and aggregation of external news coverage, articles and discussions, all interlinked with a growing industry database.
Pokerfuse.com is not going away. The news will continue just as before and we have exciting plans in the near future to further expand our coverage, into topics more geared towards poker players.
... for those that want expanded coverage, analysis and industry data—all from the independent perspective that readers have learned to trust—PRO is for you.
But for those that want expanded coverage, further analysis and industry data—all from the independent perspective that readers have learned to trust—pokerfuse PRO is for you. It’s the only premium publication with a dedication to online poker; we understand that the poker industry is distinct from the rest of the online gambling market, and deserves to be treated differently.
Who should be interested in a PRO subscription? If your interest in poker goes beyond a hobby, then you will benefit as a subscriber. If you’re a serious poker professional or poker coach who keeps abreast of regulatory and industry developments, our extra coverage will prove essential reading. Podcasters and journalists will also benefit from the early access to all our content, extended articles, full page RSS and more.
For those in the industry—affiliates, poker operators, analysts and regulators—our Data subscriptions offers unique market data and an extensive industry directory, all backed up with our unique Newsbeat service to provide up-to-date context.
And for everyone who wants to support independent online poker news—your subscription will ensure that we can maintain the high level of quality that you’ve come to expect.
