Barer Defeats Mizzi To Win Aussie Millions Main
It was an All-Canadian heads-up battle as Amichai Barer (GPI#244) defeated Sorel Mizzi (GPI#40) to win the Main Event at the Aussie Millions Poker Championship.
Former October Niner Jacob Balsiger (GPI#459), Darren Rabinowitz (GPI#268) and Scott Seiver (GPI#42) also final tabled the event.
More Big Winners Down Under
2013 GPI National Ukraine Player of the Year Yevgeniy Timoshenko (GPI#120) collected the 2M AUD first prize in the Aussie Millions 100K Challenge, defeating Canadian star Mike McDonald (GPI#9) heads-up.
McDonald also enjoyed a deep run in the 250K Challenge which wrapped up earlier today. McDonald finished fourth as Phil Ivey has won the 250K Challenge for the second time in three years. Ivey earns 4M AUD, defeating Isaac Haxton (GPI#413) heads-up for the title.
Lemaire Wins Gold!
French pro Hugo Lemaire (GPI#4200) won the Gold Championship at the Paris Open of Poker at the Aviation Club de France. The former WPT Grand Prix de Paris runner-up defeated two-time WSOP bracelet winner Davidi Kitai (GPI#56) heads-up for the title.
Price Is Right At GUKPT London
Recent EPT Deauville third place finisher Oliver Price (GPI#679) added to his fine start to the 2014 poker season winning the GUKPT London Main Event over the weekend.
The final table included IveyPoker Pro Mathew Frankland (GPI#541) and Ben Vinson (GPI#622).
Seden Outlasts Manole At CAPT Big Four
The UK’s Andrew Seden (GPI#11061) was able to survive the charge from Romanian poker pro Mihai Manole (GPI#332) to win the CAPT Seefeld Big Four Main Event in Austria and earn the € 99,500 payday.
Ismael Bojang (GPI#76) and Nikolaus Teichert (GPI#339) were also part of the final table.
Alvarez Wins Estrellas Madrid
Victor Alvarez (GPI#-) is the newest winner on the Estrellas Poker Tour. Alvarez got the best of Jesus Alfaro (GPI#24106) heads-up to earn his first title.
2013 GPI European Poker Awards Rookie of the Year Adrian Mateos Diaz (GPI#86) won ESPT Madrid last season.
Heartthrobs: Stammdogg, Waxman Lead Wpt Lucky Hearts
Only 33 players remain at the WPT Lucky Hearts Poker Open in Coconut Creek, Floriday with WSOP bracelet winners Keven Stammen (GPI#94) and Matt Waxman (GPI#60), who is also a WPT Champions Club member, leading the way.
Recent WPT Borgata Poker Open Champion Anthony Zinno (GPI#121) and former WPT final table participants Mukul Pahuja (GPI#123), James Calderaro (GPI#1450) and Corrie Wunstel (GPI#254) also appear in the Top 10 chip counts.
HPT California Final Table Set At Club One Casino
The Club One Casino in Fresno, California will play host to the Heartland Poker Tour California’s final table later today as veteran US circuit grinder Stan Jablonski (GPI#320) will attempt to turn his middle of the road stack into his first victory on the HPT Tour. This will be Jablonski’s fourth appearance at a HPT final table.
Poker superstar David Williams (GPI#552) busted on the bubble.
Final Set At WSOP Circuit Palm Beach Kickoff Event
The $500 buy-in kickoff event at the WSOP Circuit series at the Palm Beach Kennel Club in Florida saw 2,531 players enter for their shot at taking a piece of the 1M USD guaranteed prize pool.
