The PA fantasy sports market generated $792k in revenue in August 2023, a fall of 6% on the same month a year ago. This is actually the best month seen in the last six months, putting the industry on a slightly stronger footing going into the busy sports period.
DraftKings now controls 80% of the market, reporting $631k in revenue last month. This actually compares favorably to the same month a year ago — it has grown 11%. FanDuel, on the other hand, is a shadow of its former self. At just $138k in revenue in August, it is barely half what it did in the same month in 2022. Its market share has fallen from 30% to 17%.
Pennsylvania lacks the PrizePicks phenomenon, which props up the entire Michigan market. Its only “DFS+” operator, Underdog, is still a relative minnow: It generated $14.5k in revenue last month for less than 2% market share.
No other operator reported any revenue of note.
