LIV AND LET WIN
Final table play is underway at UKIPT Edinburgh and Liv Boeree (GPI#414) is still in the mix. Playing at her first final table in over a year, the former EPT San Remo champ will have to avoid *Jacob Bazeley*’s (GPI#150) if she hopes to bag her first victory on 2014.
SWEET SIXTEEN IN OKLAHOMA
Jeff Gibralter (GPI#1209) leads the charge as the final sixteen players make their way to final day play at the WSOP Circuit Main Event at Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma. Play is set to resume shortly with the winner to be declared later tonight.
PANKA WINS PCA
Poland’s Dominik Panka (GPI#953) prevented Mike McDonald (GPI#8) from becoming the first-ever two-time winner on the European Poker Tour last week. Panka won the PCA Main Event in the Bahamas, surviving a field of over 1,000 players for the first big score of his career, over 1.4M USD!
SCHINDLER PICKS UP PCA HIGH ROLLER
Jacob Schindler (GPI#49) also won over 1M USD in the Bahamas, defeating 2012 WSOP World Champion Greg Merson (GPI#340) heads-up to win the High Roller title. Defending Champion Vanessa Selbst (GPI#5) would finish third in the event, putting a close to a great run at the PCA!
SELBST STARTS AT THE TOP
Speaking of Selbst, she begins the 2014 season ranked #1 on the Global Poker Index Player of the Year Leaderboard. She scored three times at the PCA including a pair of third place finishes in the High Roller and Super High Roller events. Former GPI Players of the Year Ole Schemion (GPI#1) and Dan Smith (GPI#6) are also in contention early.
SEARCHING FOR A CHAMP IN FLORIDA AND ON THE IPT
Play continues at the Isle Poker Classic in Pompano Beach, Florida and IPT Nova Gorica. At the Isle, Ebony Kenney (GPI#634), Evan Teitelbaum (GPI#579) and Matt Waxman (GPI#50) are just a few of the names who have made it to Day 3 … Salvatore Bonavena (GPI#136) is amongst the contenders in Nova Gorica. Both events are scheduled to crown a winner on Tuesday.
