A US trademark application filed this month by Fanatics shows the online sports memorabilia retailer plans to launch an online sportsbook under the brand name BetFanatics. However, the application also shows that it could possibly launch products for online poker and casino gaming.
The Florida-based company submitted a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) on May 17. The review process is not expected to be complete for several months.
Fanatics, led by billionaire CEO Michael Rubin, was one of several operators that were denied a sports betting license in New York late last year.
