Crown Melbourne, host venue of the highly popular Aussie Millions series, is set to relaunch weekly poker tournaments this week.

First reported by Poker Media Australia, it ends the year-long absence of live poker action, and more than three years since tournaments were last dealt at the resort.

“We will start with the weekly tournaments but over time we will keep adding,” said Daniel Trubiano, Melbourne’s Casino Manager, Table Games, to PMA. “Our train of thought is to engage the player base and find out what they want us to offer.

“The future is looking bright for poker at Crown. There is a lot of news to come and exciting news at that,” he added.

The last Aussie Millions took place from January 4 to 24, 2020, before the global coronavirus pandemic shut down the industry. Strict social distancing measures stayed in place throughout Australia for an extended period.
