Bwin.party has appointed Jeffrey Haas as the new Group Director of Poker. Haas will take up the job in September shortly after the expected launch of the group’s all new poker software.
Director of Corporate Communications at bwin.party, John Shepherd, told pokerfuse: “We are pleased to have secured Jeffrey’s services to head up poker. He is a well known and seasoned professional who knows poker inside out.”
The current Director of Poker is Chris Welch, and the two will work closely together to oversee the first month of the new software implementation before Chris leaves at the end of September.
Jeffrey Haas has been recruited from his current position as Director of Strategy & Business Development, New Platforms for The Rational Group. However, he is no stranger to the bwin.party senior management team: in 2005/2006 he worked for Bwin in Sweden as Director of Product Management for the Ongame Network.
The new PartyPoker software has been billed as providing a “unique set of social benefits to players.” In that context, Jeffrey’s latest experiences will prove useful. In the role he is leaving at the Rational Group, his job had been to “lead our efforts to establish, manage and grow commercial activities with key platform partners such as Apple, Google, Facebook, Amazon, TelCos & other,” according to his public profile.
