As part of the “Poker Track” at the iGaming North America Conference, a panel featuring prominent igaming commentators and US online poker execs will discuss the recent developments in regulated online gaming, where the industry is today, and discuss the outlook in the near future.
iGNA is one of the largest and most important conferences on the online gaming industry calendar. The 2014 event, running March 19-21, will be the first since the introduction of regulated online poker in the states of New Jersey, Nevada and Delaware.
The four-strong “Story so Far” panel will discuss “what progress has been made and what lessons have been learned” from the various attempts to rebuild an industry “destroyed by Black Friday,” according to iGNA’s session description.
Two online poker execs will take seats on the panel. One is Chris Danek, Poker Product Manager at Ultimate Poker. Ultimate operates in both the Nevada and New Jersey online gaming markets.
He will be sat alongside his counterpart at Caesars Interactive, Bill Rini. Caesars also operates in both Nevada and New Jersey under the iconic WSOP brand.
Complementing the execs is Dan Stewart, the founder of PokerScout, the canonical source for independent monitoring of online poker traffic. PokerScout has been monitoring the regulated US markets since the first days of markets opening up.
Completing the panel is John Mehaffey, an independent analyst who currently writes for USPoker, among other sites.
Another prominent igaming commentator, Chris Grove, Publisher of OnlinePokerReport.com, will chair the panel.
Topics to be discussed by the panel include the performance of the regulated sites so far, the outlook for liquidity in the future, and successes and failures in raising awareness of the nascent legal industry.
The “Story So Far” panel precedes the other panel in the poker track, “Poker Players Panel,” where prominent poker pros, including Shaun Deeb and Jason Somerville will offer a player’s perspective of online poker. The panel will be chaired by pokerfuse Editor, Michael Gentile.
