Online poker players congregated on the 2+2 poker forums at the weekend to report a spate of unauthorized login attempts at their Skrill (aka Moneybookers) accounts over the last two weeks.
The original poster reported a total of $12k was stolen from his account after it was successfully compromised. Over a dozen other reports from other players in the thread reporting login attempts on their accounts over the last two weeks, suggesting that a list of account emails may have been leaked.
The majority of reports are from failed login attempts (customer are emailed when there are repeated failed attempts at entering the correct password), although at least one player is reportedly a victim of a successful breach. The issue has been referred to the UK police.
