- Under the terms of the partnership, Golden Gaming plans to sign up online poker players at its three Pahrump casinos and its taverns.
- 888 and TI have both been approved for online gaming in Nevada.
- “It’s unique and allows Golden Gaming to market 888’s platform to its customers,” Golden Gaming attorney Michael Alonso told the Gaming Control Board.
The Nevada Gaming Control Commission gave its approval to a proposed partnership between Golden Gaming (GG), 888 and Treasure Island (TI) which would allow for the gaming group to promote 888 and TI’s online poker operations to its customers.
Under the terms of the partnership, Golden Gaming, the largest tavern and slots operator in Nevada, plans to sign up online poker players at its three Pahrump casinos and its taverns. Its slots locations are not part of the deal.
The group will have no hand in actually operating the online gaming, but will take a revenue share of all players referred to the online poker site operated by 888.
888 and TI have both been approved for online gaming in Nevada. TI will be the first operator on 888’s “All American Poker Network.”
“It’s unique and allows Golden Gaming to market 888’s platform to its customers,” Golden Gaming attorney Michael Alonso stated in front of the Gaming Control Board, as quoted by Howard Stutz in the Las Vegas Review Journal.
According to Alonso, the partnership will come into affect once Treasure Island launches its online poker room.
“This is a good example of new ideas coming to the marketplace,” Control Board Chairman A.G. Burnett is quoted as saying. “It’s an attempt to add further liquidity. I, for one, welcome it.”
Sartini Synergy, a subsidiary of Golden Gaming, was approved in January for an interactive gaming license.
The Nevada Gaming Commission is expected to give a final approval to the partnership later this month.
